{"id":228984,"date":"2021-04-27T13:08:45","date_gmt":"2021-04-27T13:08:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2021\/04\/27\/kvks-atmas-train-rural-youth-on-agriculture-and-allied-sector-across-the-state\/"},"modified":"2025-04-15T13:58:37","modified_gmt":"2025-04-15T08:28:37","slug":"kvks-atmas-train-rural-youth-on-agriculture-and-allied-sector-across-the-state","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2021\/04\/27\/kvks-atmas-train-rural-youth-on-agriculture-and-allied-sector-across-the-state\/","title":{"rendered":"KVKs, ATMAs train rural youth on agriculture and allied sector across the state"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/http:\/\/new.nagalandpost.com\/cms\/gall_content\/no_images_650x.jpg><\/p>\n<p>In an attempt to impart skill-based training to rural youth in agriculture and allied areas, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) and Agricultural Technology Management Agencies (ATMAs) across Nagaland have been conducting Skill Training of Rural Youth (STRY).<\/p>\n<p>STRY also aims to promote employment of rural areas and for creation of skilled manpower to perform farm and non-farm operations.<\/p>\n<p>Kohima: ATMA Kohima district conducted a six-day training programme on &ldquo;poultry management&rdquo; from April 19-24 in association with State Agricultural Management &amp; Extension Training Institute (SAMETI) National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE).<\/p>\n<p>According to DIPR report, the resource persons were farm manager, Dr. Thepfudithou Sh&uuml;ya and BTM Tseminyu Block, Dr. Vibeilie Kerets&uuml;.<\/p>\n<p>The two main sub-topics under &ldquo;poultry management&rdquo; covered during the training programme were on &ldquo;poultry feed management&rdquo; and &ldquo;disease and preventive measures in poultry farming&rdquo;.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Sh&uuml;ya described poultry as one of the fastest growing and most profitable agri business in the current market scenario and encouraged the youth to pursue, starting from own backyard, to start doing with own hands instead of hiring labour. Field visit to poultry farm was also conducted.<\/p>\n<p>The training programme was attended by 17 youths from different villages under Kohima district and certificates were distributed to each participant.<\/p>\n<p>Mon: A week STRY programme on &ldquo;seed production and poultry rearing and management&rdquo; was organised by KVK Mon, Nagaland in association with SAMETI, Nagaland, and MANAGE Hyderabad at KVK Office Aboi under Mon.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A press release by KVK Mon stated that during the first week, course director Bendangjungla emphasised on different themes with regard to seed production on cereals and vegetables. On the second week programme, course director Dr. Paihem Michui emphasised on various aspects on poultry rearing and management.<\/p>\n<p>The training covered various topics under seed production and poultry rearing and management through PowerPoint presentation, audio visual, skilled based exercise through active participation and involvement of trainees at interactive sessions and group discussions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Sub-divisional soil and water conservation officer (SDSCO) Aboi, Shoyan Konyak graced the valedictory programme as guest of honour and encouraged trainees to be well versed with technical knowledge and put into practice for their livelihood security based with eco-friendly manner. Altogether 34 rural youths from Angphang, Chaoha, Chingkao, Chenloishu, Chenwetnyu Villages and Aboi Town attended the training.<\/p>\n<p>Wokha: ATMA Wokha organised STRY programme on the topic &ldquo;package of practices on eri culture&rdquo; on April 19 and April 24 at ATMA training hall.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A press release from, ATMA Wokha DPDT Subenthung Kithan stated that resource person for the training wasdepartment of sericulture, extension officer, Edward Humtsoe.<\/p>\n<p>He stressed on different topics such as types of silkworm, rearing of silkworm, host plant cultivation and seed production.<\/p>\n<p>The training programme was led by ATMA Wokha DPDT Subenthung Yanthan, where he stressed on the importance of skill development.<\/p>\n<p>He also encouraged the aspiring youths to enhance their knowledge through skill training which would enable them for self-sustainability.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The programme also covered documentary films and activities undertaken by ATMA Wokha.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>ATMA Dimapur: ATMA Dimapur in association with State SAMETI Nagaland and MANAGE organised a six-day STRY for 15 youths on &ldquo;low cost mushroom cultivation &amp; value addition&rdquo; from April 19- 24at mushroom development centre, state horticulture nursery, Dimapur, Nagaland.<\/p>\n<p>A press release by DAO &amp; PD ATMA, Dimapur stated that during the course of training, participants were taught about various varieties of mushroom, different methods of mushroom cultivation for different varieties, preparation of materials for mushroom cultivation, hands on practical demonstration and preparation and a field trip to Konger Agritech (OPC) private limited, Aoyimkum, Dimapur.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KVKs, ATMAs train rural youth on agriculture and allied sector across the state<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[679],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-228984","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","category-nagaland-news"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/228984","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=228984"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/228984\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=228984"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=228984"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=228984"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
