As the world continues to fight COVID-19 pandemic, several sensitisation and awareness programmes on COVID-19 are being held to educate the public. Other activities like vaccination and testing are also being conducted to stop the spread of the virus.<\/p>\n
NEIRBC: An online training on “how to offer online counselling supports to the general population during the pandemic” was organised for Northeast India Regional Bishop’s Council (NEIRBC)’s Northeast India Covid Task Force on July 10.<\/p>\n
A press release NEI COVID Task Force media cell informed that the task force was set up by NEIRBC to provide emotional and psychological support for those affected during COVID-19 pandemic. <\/p>\n
The release said the programme was coordinated by coordinator, NEI task force-counselling Bro. Dr. Varghese Mandapathil. <\/p>\n
Bishop of Kohima, NEIRBC secretary general, Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil inaugurated the programme with a prayer and in the introductory exhorted the counsellors to be beacons of light and most empathetic comforters to the people in distress. <\/p>\n
At the first training, principal, Loyola High School, Kiphire, Fr. Dr. Joe Mariadhas spoke about the stages and interventions of grieving, provided an overview of grief and its related issues. <\/p>\n
N.V., director of Muktha Foundation, Bangalore, Ashwini trained counsellors on parenting styles, skills for assisting families with pandemic challenges, and taught the children simple coping skills to be used in difficult circumstances. <\/p>\n
A toll-free helpline 18001217119 was established to provide emotional, medical or material assistance to those in distress during the pandemic.<\/p>\n
Chessore: A sensitisation and awareness programme on COVID-19 and vaccination was conducted and sponsored by ECS Tuensang in collaboration with YBBA Shamator for the 11 villages around Chessore Headquarters on July 17 at Chessore Town Baptist Church. The resource person was Rev. Dr. Chingmak and the medical team was led by Dr. Vikruto of Primary Health Centre Chessore.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
