{"id":233373,"date":"2021-08-07T11:49:52","date_gmt":"2021-08-07T11:49:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2021\/08\/07\/cmo-dmu-organises-awareness-programme-on-hepatitis-for-ngos\/"},"modified":"2021-08-07T11:49:52","modified_gmt":"2021-08-07T11:49:52","slug":"cmo-dmu-organises-awareness-programme-on-hepatitis-for-ngos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2021\/08\/07\/cmo-dmu-organises-awareness-programme-on-hepatitis-for-ngos\/","title":{"rendered":"CMO Dmu organises awareness programme on hepatitis for NGOs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/2021_8$large_dimojd.jpg><\/p>\n<p>In continuation with the observation of &ldquo;World Hepatitis Day 2021&rdquo;, office of Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dimapur organised an awareness programme on hepatitis on August 7 for NGOs and allied departments.<\/p>\n<p>A press release by CMO Dimapur office stated that resource person senior specialist, District Hospital Dimapur (DHD) Dr. Neilasakuo Linyii&nbsp; oriented the participants on viral hepatitis and its types.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>He said hepatitis A and hepatitis E are transmitted through contaminated water and food, and can be cured without any intervention. However, he cautioned that hepatitis B and hepatitis C are very infectious and would become chronic.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>While Hepatitis D is another common hepatitis, Dr. Neilasakuo said it requires concomitant infection with Hepatitis B.<\/p>\n<p>He informed that National Viral Hepatitis Control Programme (NVHCP) was an intervention of government of India with an aim to combat hepatitis and eliminate viral hepatitis C by 2030 by providing free screening, diagnosis and treatment.<\/p>\n<p>He said this program was in its initial stage, however, the services would soon be made available even at the grassroot level. Dr. Neilasakuo also informed that vaccine for Hepatitis B was available and although there was no vaccine for Hepatitis C, it was easily manageable and curable. Deputy CMO Dr. Antoly Suu presented the NVHCP implementation and framework.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Renbothung of Kripa Foundation shared his experience living with hepatitis and his activism towards bringing affordable treatment to others with hepatitis.
