{"id":23412,"date":"2017-12-13T00:27:30","date_gmt":"2017-12-13T00:27:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2017\/12\/13\/16-day-activism-against-gender-based-violence-ends\/"},"modified":"2017-12-13T00:27:30","modified_gmt":"2017-12-13T00:27:30","slug":"16-day-activism-against-gender-based-violence-ends","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2017\/12\/13\/16-day-activism-against-gender-based-violence-ends\/","title":{"rendered":"16-day activism against gender-based violence ends"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/><\/p>\n<div>Sixteen-day activism which commenced on November 25 commemorating \u201cInternational Day for Women against Violence\u201d under the theme, \u201cleave no one behind: End violence against women and girls\u201d culminated on December 10 coinciding with \u201cHuman Rights Day\u201d.<\/div>\n<div>A press release by State Resource Centre for Women, mission director, Daisy Mezhur, stated that phase-1 of the activism was kicked off by 181 Women Helpline Nagaland, while the second and third phases were carried out by the One Stop Centre (OSC) Dimapur and Kohima respectively.<\/div>\n<div>The release informed that phase- II of 16-day activism against \u201cgender- based violence\u201d was carried out by OSC Dimapur at various community health centres at Dimapur from December 1 to 5.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>The OSC team targeted primary health centres as they were one of the most important grassroots level service providers accessible by the whole community, informed the release.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>The team visited Medziphema and Dhansiri community health centres; Niuland and Ch\u00fcmukedima primary health centre and Duncan, health sub-centre. OSC generated awareness to the care givers in these health centres about the issue of violence against women prevalent in society.<\/div>\n<div>From December 6 to 10, OSC Kohima carried out the phase-III, where the team attended Ferrando Domestic Workers Alliance (FDWA) and FDWA Children\u2019s Club.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>The Centre administrator of OSC, Vikhoriano Meru sensitized the domestic workers on Sakhi-One Stop Centre and 181-Women Helpline. The OSC and Sisterhood Network had a constructive interactive session to collaborate and promote activism against gender-based violence.
