Mokokchung district has achieved 75% coverage in COVID-19 vaccination and aims to achieve at least 90% coverage in few weeks’ time.<\/p>\n
This was said by chief medical officer (CMO) Mokokchung Dr. R. Chubala Aier during the 2nd quarter district review meeting of the department of Health & Family Welfare (H&FW) Mokokchung, on August 26 at the conference hall of the CMO Mokokchung.<\/p>\n
In a press release CMO Mokokchung office stated that Dr. Aier lauded the officers and staff of the department for giving their best effort during pandemic.<\/p>\n
She said the district achieved 75% coverage in COVID vaccination and tackled COVID-19 with timely contact tracing and surveillance because of the cooperation of District Task Force, ward\/village council chairman, ASHAs and AWWs. <\/p>\n
Stating that the world was still in the midst of pandemic, Dr. Aier said if more effort was put then the district would be able to achieve at least 90% coverage in vaccination. She then called upon the gathering to concentrate on the number of unvaccinated and not only on the percentage of coverage.<\/p>\n
The CMO also highlighted on the importance of early testing and treatment, contract tracing and to do proper monitoring of health units within respective jurisdiction.<\/p>\n
Dr. Aier also encouraged the gathering to work hard to fight the ongoing pandemic and to come up with new ideas and innovations adding to the success stories of the district.<\/p>\n
At the meeting, DPO (UIP & RCH) Dr. Ayangla Saku stressed on the importance of COVID vaccination and submission of proper micro planning. <\/p>\n
Chairperson of the meeting, deputy CMO Mokokchung Dr. Aonungdok gave a power point presentation on the COVID-19 status of Mokokchung; surveillance coordinator, NISHTHA surveillance, JHPIEGO, Angelina Jungi spoke on the importance of Integrated Health Information Platform (IHIP) and district coordinator (AB-PMJAY) Limatenzuk gave a power point presentation on the activities and beneficiaries under Ayushman Bharat scheme.<\/p>\n
All the SMOs and MOs of Community Health Centres and Primary Health Centres gave a power point presentation on brief review of areas, monitoring areas, COVID -19 vaccination and testing, community COVID-19 care centre status, VHND’s conducted and requirements.<\/p>\n
