S.T Janetius, principal and coordinator of the club organised a webinar to celebrate &ldquo;World Photography Day&rdquo;.<\/p>\n<p>The resource person for the webinar was Akshy I Cherian, an amateur photographer based in Bangalore, who spoke on the art of photography. In his speech, Cherian mentioned how photography needs time and attention. He acknowledged how every work of art needs consistency to master and polish. He further explained how one of the most difficult challenges faced by a photographer was the challenge of being patient with creating art and believing in time. The resource person explained the different types of photography where he mentioned that portrait photography is not just pictures of faces alone, but also about how it tells a story and communicates with the viewers.&nbsp; &ldquo;People change but memories don&rsquo;t&rdquo;, he added.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Professor S.T Janetius who gave the introductory speech, mentioned about not editing photos but rather keeping it natural and also shared a few of his techniques of clicking a proper picture. The session concluded with vote of thanks by proposed by Akuniksung Amer, a student of B. Sc 3rd semester and a member of the club.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Patkai Christian College (Autonomous):<\/p>\n<p>The result of the national level photography competition organised by Department of Multimedia and Mass Communication, Patkai Christian College (Autonomous) was declared on the occasion of &lsquo;World Photography Day&rsquo;, August 19. Thokchom Kripananda&rsquo;s photo metaphorically touched upon the concept of life&rsquo;s struggle with caption &lsquo;Wherever life plants you, bloom with grace&rsquo; was selected for the first prize. The second prize went to Tongmak Dada. The photo on the theme humanity was captioned &lsquo;Hope for humanity&rsquo;.&nbsp; It was a tie between Lochamo L Ezung and Ghukato Chishi for the third spot.<\/p>\n<p>While Ezung on the theme &lsquo;save earth&rsquo; had captioned his photo as &lsquo;I can be part of the solution&rsquo;. Chishi captioned his photo as &lsquo;Mother nature shedding its tears on the flowers, often disguised as &lsquo;dew drops&rsquo;.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The winners will be receiving cash prizes and certificate.
