Celebrating the achievements of 75 years of Independence through “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”, department of science and technology under the State Science & Technology Programme (SSTP) initiated a yearlong programme, “Vigyan Utsav” to showcase emerging Science Technology and Innovation (STI) ecosystems at States\/UTs and its contribution towards Atmanirbhar Bharat on September 17.<\/p>\n
In a press release, Nagaland science and technology council informed that Vigyan Utsav under the theme “STI Ecosystem in Nagaland for Atmanirbhar Bharat” was virtually organised by Nagaland Science & Technology Council (NASTEC) and inaugurated by advisor, Science & Technology, IT&C and NRE, Mmhonlumo Kikon.<\/p>\n
The advisor in his inaugural address expressed happiness over the initiative of the council in organising the programme in line with the initiative of DST and vision of prime minister, Narendra Modi to infuse new energy and new consciousness among the countrymen.<\/p>\n
He also expressed pleasure in inaugurating Vigyan Utsav on Modi’s 71st birthday.<\/p>\n
The main highlight of the programme included presentations by various central & state S&T institutions and university in the state.<\/p>\n
Dignitaries & participants of the programme were welcomed by principal secretary, S&T & chairman, NASTEC O.T. Chingmak.<\/p>\n
The programme was chaired by senior scientific officer & member secretary, Kevitso Kenneth, a presentation on “STI ecosystem in the state-strength of S&T Council” was delivered by scientist, NASTEC, Kekuneil Ltu followed by presentation from various S&T institutes in the state.<\/p>\n
Vote of thanks was proposed by senior scientist, NASTEC, Dr. Nesatalu Hiese while scientist C Pelengulie Chücha moderated the presentations. <\/p>\n
Speakers of the programme included Director, NRC on Mithun, Medziphema, Dr. M.H. Khan; Jt. Director, ICAR- NEH Region- Nagaland Centre, Dr. D. J. Rajkhowa; director, NIT, Dimapur Dr. S. Venugopal; dean, SASRD, Medziphema, Prof. Akali Sema; Kohima Science College Jotsoma principal Dr. Lily Sema; Addl. Comm. & Exe. Dir. (national bee board) and director, CIH Medziphema, Dr. N.K. Patle; joint director LRD, Albert Ngullie and joint director, SARS, Mokokchung, Temsuinla Jamir.<\/p>\n
This Vigyan Utsav programme would be conducted virtually on a monthly basis till August 2022 following up different thematic topic under each month.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
