{"id":240575,"date":"2021-12-13T13:25:25","date_gmt":"2021-12-13T13:25:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2021\/12\/13\/zoan-7th-general-conference-held-at-jalukie\/"},"modified":"2021-12-13T13:25:25","modified_gmt":"2021-12-13T13:25:25","slug":"zoan-7th-general-conference-held-at-jalukie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2021\/12\/13\/zoan-7th-general-conference-held-at-jalukie\/","title":{"rendered":"ZOAN 7th general conference held at Jalukie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/http:\/\/new.nagalandpost.com\/cms\/gall_content\/no_images_650x.jpg><\/p>\n<p>The two-day 7th general conference of Zeliang Officers&rsquo; Association Nagaland (ZOAN) which commenced on December 10 concluded at JTWWO hall, Jalukie town December 11 with advisor, water resources, Namri Nchang and leader of the NPF legislators party, T.R Zeliang as special invitees.<\/p>\n<p>According to a DIPR report, addressing the gathering, Namri Nchang said the officers were torchbearers in the society and urged them to continue being prudent and pragmatic.<\/p>\n<p>He asked the officers present to maintain the spirit of oneness and take steps towards preserving and promoting their own mother tongue.<\/p>\n<p>Namri advocated examining and rededicating oneself and work with dedication to bring back the past glory of the Zeliang community.<\/p>\n<p>In his speech, T.R Zeliang encouraged the officers to work collectively in order to take their community forward.<\/p>\n<p>T.R Zeliang said it was imperative for the younger generation to be inspired and have role models in their life whom they could look up to.<\/p>\n<p>In this regard, he said it was the responsibility of officers to be role models and shape the future of the students. Further, he suggested orientation programme half yearly or yearly for students so that they would be inspired.<\/p>\n<p>On sensitisation of developmental activities, Zeliang said that it should be prerogative of officers to sensitise the people about governmental programmes, especially the communitised ones of the government.<\/p>\n<p>T.R Zeliang made two suggestions: serving and retired ZOAN officers to adopt one village primary school; retired officers who were still capable of working to form an ex-officer association for good coordination between serving and retired officers.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on &ldquo;&lsquo;politics&rdquo; and &ldquo;clean election&rsquo;&rdquo;, Zeliang said the vicious cycle of &ldquo;money for vote&rdquo; or &ldquo;vote for money&rdquo; could be broken or eradicated only through collective efforts and if the officers tendered wise and correct guidance to the people.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the programme was chaired by ZOAN, Peren unit convenor, Er. Asembe Mbung while introductory remark was proposed by ZOAN president, Hiazu Meru and vote of thanks was delivered by ZOAN vice-president, Er.
