{"id":240576,"date":"2021-10-18T13:37:07","date_gmt":"2021-10-18T13:37:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2021\/10\/18\/ku-demands-commencement-of-medical-college-construction\/"},"modified":"2021-10-18T13:37:07","modified_gmt":"2021-10-18T13:37:07","slug":"ku-demands-commencement-of-medical-college-construction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2021\/10\/18\/ku-demands-commencement-of-medical-college-construction\/","title":{"rendered":"KU demands commencement of medical college construction"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/http:\/\/new.nagalandpost.com\/cms\/gall_content\/no_images_650x.jpg><\/p>\n<p>Konyak Union (KU) has demanded immediate commencement of the construction of medical college in Mon district since all issues and restrictions regarding site allocation and other necessary matters had been settled.<\/p>\n<p>In a press release through its media cell, the union urged both the Central and State governments to expedite the project, whose foundation stone was laid by then Union health minister Dr Harsh Vardhan. Further, KU demanded commencement of academic activities at Model College, Wakching with adequate human resource and fully functional institution immediately, besides setting up a working women hostel at Mon town under Planning &amp;Coordination department.<\/p>\n<p>It also called on the government to pressurise National Highways &amp;Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (NHIDCL) for re-tendering under Package III &amp; IV (Merangkong-Mon road) since the work had been abandoned by Manoranjan Brahma firm, besides putting pressure for constructing inter-State road connectivity between Zero-Point (Nagaland)-Simulguri (Assam) via Naginimora.<\/p>\n<p>Recalling its requests to the State government several times to construct Pongma bridge in consultation with the Assam government since this was the only economic lifeline for Mon district, the union regretted that all this fell on deaf ears of the government. It once again reminded the State government to initiate the move at the earliest.<\/p>\n<p>KU however appreciated and thanked the State government for the concern shown towards the people of Mon district by bringing various developmental works that were of huge importance considering the district&rsquo;s geographical location and remoteness in comparison with other districts.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Apart from some achievements and foundation laying ceremonies, the union alleged that these developments were yet to see the light of day, thereby requiring immediate attention of the government.<\/p>\n<p>According to KU, through the able leadership of chief minister Neiphiu Rio, health &amp; family welfare (H&amp;FW) minister S Pangnyu Phom and ministers in-charge of various departments and with the support and commitment of the nine legislators of Mon district, many developmental schemes and projects have been initiated.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Deeply acknowledging the concern and commitment shown towards the Konyak people, particularly in fulfilling the aspirations by completing and inaugurating the 11 IR Battalion and Polytechnic at Aboi, the union however stressed that the development activities should not be limited to merely constructing buildings.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KU demands commencement of medical college construction<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[679],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-240576","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","category-nagaland-news"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/240576","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=240576"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/240576\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=240576"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=240576"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=240576"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
