In line with Naga Students\u2019 Federation (NSF) appeal to Naga youth and student community, the Chakhesang Youth Front (CYF) and Zeliang Students\u2019 Union Nagaland (ZSUN) Tuesday affirmed not to participate in the the Republic Day celebrations on January 26, 2022.
In a press release, CYF president Vezhoduyi Nakro and general secretary Seve R Vadeo affirmed to extend \u201cunconditional support\u201d to the student community to express dismay over the \u201cunjustified command and orders and subsequent merciless murders under the indemnity of infamous AFSPA, 1958\u201d.
CYF said that the AFSPA has achieved nothing since its inception except terrorizing the innocent civilians. It said that the \u201cso called \u2018largest democracy in the world\u2019 cannot have such Black Law against innocent and peace-loving people.\u201d
CYF has, therefore, strongly demanded immediate \u201cimpartial\/unconditional removal\u201d of the AFSPA, 1958.
Until the demand was met, CYF said all its affiliated units have been directed to refrain from inviting the Indian armed forces during any functions or receive any aid under their banner.
Lauding the efforts made by the state government, CYF has appealed to the government to promptly facilitate the immediate removal of AFSPA \u201cwith utmost sincerity.\u201d
ZSUN: In compliance with NSF directives, the Zeliang Students\u2019 Union Nagaland (ZSUN) has directed all the student and youth bodies under its jurisdiction to adhere with the same.
