{"id":247764,"date":"2022-01-29T01:34:31","date_gmt":"2022-01-28T20:04:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nagalandpost.com\/?p=247764"},"modified":"2022-01-29T01:34:32","modified_gmt":"2022-01-28T20:04:32","slug":"over-100-migratory-birds-found-dead-in-tripuras-sukhsagar-lake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2022\/01\/29\/over-100-migratory-birds-found-dead-in-tripuras-sukhsagar-lake\/","title":{"rendered":"Over 100 migratory birds found dead in Tripura\u2019s Sukhsagar lake"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">More than 100 migratory birds from California in the United States have been found dead in Sukhsagar, a sprawling lake in Tripura\u2019s Gomati district, forest officers said on Friday.<br>The carcasses were found floating on the lake, they said.<br>Gomati Divisional Forest Officer Mahendra Singh and Udaipur Sub-divisional Forest Officer Kamal Bhowmik visited the site on Thursday and collected one carcass for post-mortem examination.<br>\u201cAn inquiry has been ordered and the carcass sent to Agartala for autopsy,\u201d Singh said, without divulging any further detail. Another forest officer, on condition of anonymity, said that poachers might have poisoned the water body with pesticides, and the migratory birds, which have been coming from California for the last one decade, might have died after consuming the water.<br>\u201cThe carcasses were found scattered across the water body and it is very difficult to give the exact count.<br>However, it seems that more than 100 birds have died.
