Mokokchung College of Teacher Education (MCTE) celebrated its 11th foundation day at the college premises on Saturday.
A press release from MCTE informed that during the programme, vice principal of the college, Dr. Temsurenla spoke on the \u201csignificance of the day\u201d as one of not just retrospection but also of introspection.
She also recollected her experiences as a teacher at MCTE and encouraged the student and teachers to live by the college motto, \u201canvil of knowledge\u201d.
Meanwhile, MCTESU general secretary E. Phongle spoke on \u201cmy vision for the college\u201d and said that the \u201cteacher education\u201d in the college was a process of refinement.
He called upon the student-teachers to \u201cplay a pivotal role towards inculcating values of peace, liberty, equality and justice among the budding minds of Nagaland\u201d.
The programme concluded with an extempore speech competition where members from various clubs participated.
The first prize was awarded to Imchamanen, cultural club, second prize went to Olempenla, aesthetic club and third prize to KitheliYepthomi, drama and music club.
