He declared “Your pain is our pain, you suffer and we suffer.”

Rev Linyü said even if the Church was bruised, hurt, wounded and made dirty for “engaging the powerful word of God, it would be on the streets with the children of God”.

He also appealed to the youth to make deeper commitment to God as only He could grant strength, grace and deliver justice.

Speaking on the occasion, KBPF president Rev. Dr. Vevo Phesao declared that Fellowship would be with any movement that was “just, noble, honest and genuine and to those who are working for the good of the public and in the interest of the citizens of Nagaland”.

He also appealed for peace and airing grievances to the government of the day without resorting to violence and “in a way that was peaceful and democratic”.

NBCC representative Rev. Vikuo Rhi appreciated PCC move and said Church was for the people and welfare of the younger generation.

He said Naga society desperately needed healing – political, social and religious – as it had experienced “enough corruption not only politically, but in Church as well”. He called for standing up for truth without fear and heed to the call of Nagas for change.

ACAUT convenor Joel Naga said they would not return home till their demands were met, adding that politicians and bureaucrats had failed the youth, but not the Church. He thanked the church leaders and said the youth were encouraged with their presence.

Joel said with the prevailing nepotism, many Naga youth would not get jobs and, for which, many youth had already moved out of Nagaland seeking jobs.

He declared that, with the Assembly polls round the corner, ACAUT would support NBCC in the latter’s clean election campaign, stating “Unless God-fearing person was elected, no amount of protest will change the system and things will never change.”

He also informed the gathering about the three PILs filed by ACAUT and said ACAUT would file another PIL on PDS scam by this week.

NVCO president Kezhokhoto Savi said RTI promoted transparency and accountability, while Lokayukta would ensure clean, transparent and accountable government.

Stating that legislators had to pass a Bill in this regard in the Assembly before it became a law, he urged the government to do the needful before the ensuing Christmas.

He said any MLA indulging in corruption and fearing law would not want a Lokayukta and so appealed to the Assembly to pass the Bill so that corruption could be curbed to some extent.

Nagaland Indigenous People’s Forum, chairman advocate NM Jamir said there would never be any peace and development in the State with corruption, adding that Nagaland was one of the most corrupt States in the world.
