Zeliang on Tuesday took stock of the preparations for the Hornbill Festival, celebrated annually from December 1-10.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>According to CMO media cell, the chief minister during his visit held meeting with various departments and organizations at Kisama Bamboo Hall and deliberated on various issues related to road maintenance, power supply, security, social work, traffic regulations, etc.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>The chief minister has specifically instructed the responsible departments\/organisations and contractors involved in road renovation work to adopt shift-system by deploying adequate number of machinery and work-force both during day and night. Police and district administration have been entrusted to provide security cover during night-shifts including regulation of traffic along NH-29. Departments\/organizations assigned responsibility for road-repairing across various parts of Kohima and Dimapur have also been asked to complete within stipulated deadline and Power department to ensure uninterrupted power supply at Kisama and other important areas at the State capital during the festival period.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>The chief minister also inspected the main Amphitheatre, tribal Morungs and other structures and called upon the responsible departments and organisations to expedite preparations for successful conduct of the festival. He further informed that the renovations of tribal Morungs would be completed by November 25. Meanwhile, mass social work would be held on November 25 in town areas starting from Dimapur to Kohima till Kisama Heritage Village.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>To ensure smooth flow of traffic during the festival, the approach road leading to Hotel Japfu at Kohima has been placed under \u2018No Parking Zone\u2019 for local taxis.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>In this regard, district administration and police have been asked to make alternate parking arrangements by identifying suitable location\/s.<\/div>\n<div>Meanwhile, following VIPs have been invited to participate in the upcoming Hornbill Festival: President of India, Ram Nath Kovind; Union home minister, Rajnath Singh; union minister MoRTH, Nitin Gatkari; union defence minister, Nirmala Sitharaman; minister of state DoNER, Dr. Jitendra Singh; union minister textiles, information and broadcasting, Smriti Irani; minister of state culture, Mahesh Sharma; chief ministers of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Assam, Pema Khandu, N. Biren Singh and Sarbananda Sonowal and judge of Supreme Court, Justice Ranjan Gogoi.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>However, CMO media cell said that till the time of releasing this statement, Ram Nath Kovind, Nirmala Sitharaman, Smriti Irani and Justice Ranjan Gogoit have confirmed their participation.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nagaland chief minister T.R.
