{"id":25432,"date":"2017-11-05T23:56:15","date_gmt":"2017-11-05T23:56:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2017\/11\/05\/lotha-orgs-flay-imposition-of-144-crpc\/"},"modified":"2017-11-05T23:56:15","modified_gmt":"2017-11-05T23:56:15","slug":"lotha-orgs-flay-imposition-of-144-crpc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2017\/11\/05\/lotha-orgs-flay-imposition-of-144-crpc\/","title":{"rendered":"Lotha orgs flay imposition of 144 CrPC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/><\/p>\n<div>Lotha Hoho organizations have slammed the district administration for imposing \u201cunprovoked\u201d section 144 CrPC during the silent rally called by Lotha Students\u2019 Union, Lotha Eloe Hoho and All Nagaland Private Schools Association, Wokha Unit on October 9, 2017 to protest against the assault of a student.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Terming the imposition of 144 CrPC by district administration \u201cunprovoked and uncalled for\u201d, the LH chairman Mhao Humstoe and general secretary Er. Mhondamo Ovung in a press statement asserted that the silent peaceful rally was organized in order to express their resentment in democratic way and \u201cwas therefore not in any way a violation of any law or rule\u201d.<\/div>\n<div>LH also pointed out that imposition of 144 CrPC by district administration on a silent peaceful rally was against the fundamental democratic right, provisioned in the Indian constitution, and insult to the Lotha community, the dweller community of the district.&nbsp; In view of the above, Lotha organisations have been compelled to resolve to ask the DC, Wokha, to apologise, through the local print media, LH said.<\/div>\n<div>Therefore, LH said Lotha organizations met DC Wokha on November 3, at DC office Wokha, and submitted a memorandum, asking him to explain and apologise for the abuse of administrative power, within five days.<\/div>\n<div>But since, DC had verbally lamented and requested the organisations to settle the issue amicably in the name of Tokhu Emong and also as he was about to be transferred from Wokha, the Lotha organisations taking cognisance of his verbal apology has agreed \u201cthat the apology through print media may not be insisted from him\u201d, LH said.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>However, LH said that since unprovoked imposition of section CrPC 144 has remained an issue with the district administration, and the same \u201cbrutal prohibitory\u201d 144 CrPC had also been imposed by the same administration, while launching the controversial MOGPL at Tssori- Champang Oil fields on July 21, 2014, which was against the rights and wishes of the land owners and against Article 371A of the Indian Constitution, the Lotha organisations have resolved that it would not allow any such abuse of administrative power in future.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>LH therefore has asked all concerned to note for future guidance.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lotha Hoho organizations have slammed the district administration for imposing \u201cunprovoked\u201d section 144 CrPC during the silent rally called by Lotha Students\u2019 Union, Lotha Eloe Hoho and All Nagaland Private Schools Association, Wokha Unit on October 9, 2017 to protest against the assault of a student.&nbsp; Terming the imposition of 144 CrPC by district administration [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[679],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-25432","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","category-nagaland-news"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/25432","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=25432"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/25432\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=25432"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=25432"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=25432"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
