Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) has warned that strict action would be taken against any oil tanker contracted with the company if found involved in fuel adulteration.
In a statement, the oil major also assured extending all necessary assistance and cooperation to the investigation of alleged fuel adulteration racked busted by Rising People\u2019s Party (RPP) recently.
Further, IOCL clarified that there was no 20- kilo litre (KL) capacity tanker under contract with its Dimapur depot, adding that only 9\/11\/12\/14-KL capacity tankers were attached\/contracted to the depot.
Claiming that it had a robust system like e-locking and vehicle tracking for monitoring tanker movements, the corporation however asserted that it could not be held accountable for siphoning\/pilferage\/malpractices by unscrupulous tanker crew\/transporters enroute to the destination.
And in case of any reported complaint, IOCL assured of taking necessary action as per its norms\/guidelines.
According to the statement, two 20-KL tankers were available at the site that were found to be partially filled with petroleum products during a joint site inspection with district administration and the police on April 22. Fuel samples were also collected from both the tankers for further lab investigation, it added.
IOCL also said that the statement made by its official, which published on April 23, was based on the observations at the site during joint inspection.
The registration numbers of both the tankers were found erased and comments that these were under maintenance were found at the garage adjacent to the spot during the joint site inspection, added the statement which was issued by IOCL Dimapur depot deputy general manager (operation) Huwuto Sema.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
