{"id":263241,"date":"2022-04-26T02:57:28","date_gmt":"2022-04-25T21:27:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nagalandpost.com\/?p=263241"},"modified":"2022-04-26T02:57:29","modified_gmt":"2022-04-25T21:27:29","slug":"govt-committed-to-develop-ne-region-tribal-areas-munda","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2022\/04\/26\/govt-committed-to-develop-ne-region-tribal-areas-munda\/","title":{"rendered":"Govt committed to develop NE region, tribal areas: Munda"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">\uf086 Inaugurates Kuda Sports Complex in Dmu<br>\uf086 Foundation stone laid for Kohima Village Multipurpose Hall<br><strong>\uf086 <\/strong>Announces archery centre for State<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Staff Reporter\/Correspondent<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Union Minister of Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda had a hectic day Monday when he inaugurated the Kuda Sports Complex at Dimapur and later laid the foundation stone for Kohima Village Multipurpose Hall (KVMH).<br>Speaking at the inauguration of the Kuda Sports Complex in Dimapur, the minister explained that the purpose of his visit to Nagaland was to hold talks with the Tribal Affairs department for initiating developmental activities in the State.<br>He said the sports complex was constructed with funds from the Tribal Affairs Ministry and hoped that it would benefit local youth, who had huge talent in different categories of sports.<br>Mentioning that there were many projects in the pipeline, Munda said the ministry would consider setting up a museum in the State which were already been initiated in states like Gujarat, Goa, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, etc.<br>He also said that under Tribal Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (TRIFED), an organic herbal sector would be promoted to generate employment and entrepreneurship. He also spoke on the unique identity and beauty of the Nagas.<br>The Union minister was accompanied by Tribal Affairs minister Imna Along, Soil &amp; Water Conservation, Geology &amp; Mining minister V Kashiho Sangtam and various senior State government officials.<br>At Kohima, Munda laid the foundation stone for Kohima Village Multipurpose Hall (KVMH) at Kohima village ground Ziekezou here on Monday evening. Speaking on the occasion, Munda said that the Modi government was committed toward develop the tribal areas in the north eastern region so that people these areas were brought at par with the other developed regions of the country.<br>He said it was the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to see that people of the North Eastern states did not feel that they were left behind. He also expressed the hope that KVMH would play a key role in preserving the culture, language and tradition of Nagas. He said the Central government was working hard to ensure that infrastructure development reached the rural areas and called for timely completion of the project so that it could be inaugurated on time.<br>Munda also announced that an archery centre would be set up in Nagaland considering its huge pool of talent. He also urged upon the State government to prepare and submit a proposal for the archery centre so that the ministry could grant special grant.<br>Of more than 700 tribal communities in different parts of the country, Munda noted that Nagaland had 17 tribes, adding the tribal people had almost similar lifestyles and character. Munda said tribal communities in Nagaland and other parts of India would witness an era of progress and development when India celebrated 100 years of independence.<br>He also mentioned that there are 115 aspirational districts in the country and announced that he would visit Kiphire on April 26 to review the various parameters set for development within a timeframe and fulfil the aspirations of the people in the sectors of education, health and employment.<br>Also speaking on the occasion, chief minister Neiphiu Rio thanked Munda for showing concern for the tribal communities in the country.
