He argued that if the Naga movement had to continue, then a fresh mandate should be sought from the people on whether they wanted an armed or non-violent movement.<br>Rio made the remark in response to a query over his earlier statement made on the floor of the assembly in March about need for a fresh mandate.<br>During the March Assembly session, Rio had stated that if Naga political settlement could not be arrived at, then a \u201cfresh mandate\u201d ought to be taken from the people on how they wanted the Naga political issue to be pursued.
