Minister for Planning & Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs, Neiba Kronu on Monday, inaugurated common water reservoir tank for Khezhakeno village and Leshemi village at Dz\u00fchari\/Dz\u00fchako (Chahako) under Phek district.
In a press release, PS to minister, Welete Kapfo informed that while speaking at the programme, Kronu said the common water reservoir tank was inaugurated \u201cfor peace and prosperity\u201d.
Expressing happiness over the coming together of Leshemi and Khezhakeno village with mutual understanding, the minister asked Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) to spread this positive development to other villages for peaceful existence.
He also acknowledged everyone for their efforts \u201cin settling the decade old conflict between Leshemi and Khezhakeno.\u201d
In his speech, CPO president Vezuh\u00fc Keyho also appreciated the wisdom of the two villages, Neiba Kronu, district administration, church leaders and past CPO officials for their efforts in resolving the decades-old dispute.
\u201cEvery problem has its own solution but the best way is mutual understanding and love, which has been displayed by the two villages,\u201d he stated.
Meanwhile, Phek deputy commissioner (DC) Razouvolie Dozo also stressed on the need to maintain good relationships with immediate neighbours.
He expressed optimism that the two villages would continue to uphold the good things that arrived in the inauguration of the water reservoir for peace and progress in the long run.
Further, expressing happiness to learn that the leaders of the two villages have agreed to coexist peacefully, the DC cautioned that any unwanted element damaging the common reservoir would be seriously dealt with by the administration.
Speaking on behalf of Khezhakeno village, Khezhakeno Youth Organisation (KYO) president, Lhouvetsho Pf\u00fcno appealed to both the villages to forgive each other for past mistakes and said \u201clet this day be a start towards the beginning of a new era of peaceful coexistence between the two villages.\u201d
SP Phek Vesupra Kezo, Leshemi Village Council chairman, Ngupelo Lasushe and Tenyimi Public Organization (TPO) president Timikha Koza also delivered short speeches at the inaugural programme.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Pf\u00fctsero additional deputy commissioner (ADC) Japheth Woch, dedicatory prayer was offered by Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC) executive secretary Rev. Khrotso Mero, Leshemi village presented folk tune while vote of thanks was proposed by Pf\u00fctsero Town Welfare Committee convenor Mezelo Lomi.
The programme was also attended by Chakhesang Mothers\u2019 Association.
