Padumpukhuri Village Council (PVC) celebrated its 32nd anniversary-cum-inter committee cultural exchange programme at the village public ground, here on Friday.
The programme was graced by Azheto Zhimomi MLA as guest of honour.
Congratulating PVC on their accomplishment, Azheto reminded them to honour the pioneers and stalwarts for their indomitable faith, courage and visionary leadership that had laid the foundation for the present generation.
He also called for peaceful co-existence among various community of the colony by coming together as one.
On the present context, Azheto lamented that Nagas lacked unity as the people were \u201cintolerant\u201d and \u201cegoistic\u201d.
He said that though Nagas have been struggling for sovereignty, independence and integration for the past years, yet result could not be achieved due to lack in unity. He further said that success and peace will triumph only when people unite as one.
Highlights of the event included release of PVC magazine by the guest of honour.
Short speech was delivered by head GB Soremo Lotha, followed by inter-communities cultural exchange and inter block tug-of- war.
Earlier, the programme began invocation prayer by East Dimapur Phom Baptist Church, Padum Pukhuri, Rev. Bauli Phom. Later, the programme also followed youth talent night.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
