{"id":273444,"date":"2022-06-14T16:20:23","date_gmt":"2022-06-14T10:50:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nagalandpost.com\/?p=273444"},"modified":"2022-06-14T16:20:24","modified_gmt":"2022-06-14T10:50:24","slug":"us-reports-about-88000-weekly-child-covid-19-cases","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2022\/06\/14\/us-reports-about-88000-weekly-child-covid-19-cases\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;US reports about 88,000 weekly child Covid-19 cases&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Los Angeles: About 88,000 child Covid-19 cases were reported across the US in the week ending June 9, according to the latest report released by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the Children&#8217;s Hospital Association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over 13.5 million children have tested positive for Covid-19 since the onset of the pandemic in the country, and nearly 395,000 of these cases have been added in the past four weeks, Xinhua news agency reported, citing the report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">About 5.6 million child Covid-19 cases have been added in 2022, said the report, which was released on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Child cases are far higher than the same time around mid-June one year ago, according to the report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is an urgent need to collect more age-specific data to assess the severity of illness related to new variants as well as potential longer-term effects, said the AAP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;It is important to recognise there are immediate effects of the pandemic on children&#8217;s health, but importantly we need to identify and address the long-lasting impacts on the physical, mental, and social well-being of this generation of children and youth,&#8221; it said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Los Angeles: About 88,000 child Covid-19 cases were reported across the US in the week ending June 9, according to the latest report released by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the Children&#8217;s Hospital Association.
