{"id":286841,"date":"2022-08-09T02:35:45","date_gmt":"2022-08-08T21:05:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nagalandpost.com\/?p=286841"},"modified":"2022-08-09T02:35:47","modified_gmt":"2022-08-08T21:05:47","slug":"along-asks-nagas-to-renounce-religious-stigmatisation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2022\/08\/09\/along-asks-nagas-to-renounce-religious-stigmatisation\/","title":{"rendered":"Along asks Nagas to \u2018renounce religious stigmatisation\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) Nagaland state unit president and minister for Higher Education &amp; Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along on Monday, urged upon the people not to resort to \u201creligious stigmatisation\u201d as India, as a democratic country would \u201cstand for the people.\u201d<br>Speaking at the induction programme of new members into the BJP fold at BJP office Mokokchung, Along said, \u201c99.9 percent of BJP karyakartas in Nagaland are Christians\u201d and that there should be \u201cno confusion with regard to religion or religious belief.\u201d<br>Welcoming the 13 former officials of different political parties, Along said BJP was \u201cfor all\u201d and claimed that BJP endeavoured for \u201csocial, economic and political upliftment of the people, particularly the tribal people of the country.\u201d<br>In this regard, he said BJP in its constitution and rule, advocated for \u201csecularism\u201d and that it stood for all the communities in the country.<br>At the programme, BJP vice president Bendangtoshi Jamir delivered welcome address, BJP Mokokchung district in-charge and former minister, Nuklutoshi Longkumer exhorted the gathering while district president Imolemba Jamir felicitated the new members.<br>Speeches were also delivered by new members.<br>Earlier, the programme was led by district vice president I Lanutoshi Longkumer while Mahila President Meyisenla Mollier offered invocation. Later, vote of thanks was proposed by district general secretary T.
