Patkai Christian College organised an interactive discussion on \u201cmaking my education count: re-searching\u201d by students\u2019 union of the college at Bundrock hall on August 16.
In a press release, PCC informed that resource person, senior post-doctoral fellow of Electronics and Electrical Engineering Advancement Institute of Kyungpook National University, Daegu, South Korea, Dr. Ethungshan Shitiri spoke on scientific research\/ scientific advancement and opportunities in higher education abroad.
Underscoring the importance of research in academia, Dr. Ethungshan said research has its place in every areas of human development including individual experiences vis a vis growth.
Highlighting two categories of researchers (past oriented and future oriented) in approach, he said an ideal researcher should possess both qualities.
He said that the use of critical thinking began early, which he said, had not edged in toto in the Naga society.
Dr. Ethungshan advised the students to pursue higher studies, research opportunities and briefed them on advantages of studying abroad.
The programme was chaired by assistant professor, department of History, Bauna Pamei, who gave a brief introduction about the speaker which was followed by inviting the SUPCC president, Luyi Chiswute to hand over a token of appreciation to the speaker.
