The Systematic Voters\u2019 Education & Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign was launched at Longleng on  September 5 at Voters Registration and Education Centre (VREC) set up at the DC\u2019s office. The Youth Voters\u2019 Festival, 2017 which began on September 4 will culminate on September 8.<\/div>\n
According to DIPR report, deputy commissioner and district election officer, Longleng, Y. Denngan Avennoho Phom appealed for availing the facility provided by the Election Commission. <\/div>\n
He asserted that in the past many students and youths have neglected their right to vote, which was very important for their future career. <\/div>\n
He informed that the present youths and student organizations were very active and well aware about their rights, and expressed optimism that the youths would pay an active role and change the prevailing system.  <\/div>\n
 AEO, Longleng, Renben Mozhui, speaking on the role of BAG & VREC informed that VREC was the centre where any individuals\/persons can approach the office\/centre in the absence of BLOs directly for any consultations like inclusion, deletion or transposition etc.,or any other related inquiries. <\/div>\n
It may be mentioned that SVEEP is a multi-intervention programme that reach out through different modes and media to educate citizens, electors and voters in order to increase their awareness and participation. <\/div>\n
The programme was chaired by LDA, AEO office, Julia Yonghok who also proposed the vote of thanks. Sankalp Patra was also distributed to the participating students. <\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
