\nChief Minister Dr. Sh\u00fcrhozelie Lieziets\u00fc told Nagaland Post that he was confident that the court would pass judgment on the merit of the case and in favour of his contention(s) as raised in his pliant.
\nMeanwhile, leader of the rebel group and former chief minister T.R. Zeliang told media persons that they will approach the Supreme Court in case of an unfavourable verdict. Zeliang said Dr. Sh\u00fcrhozelie should seek confidence vote to prove majority as he had done during the 2015 dissident crisis. He however maintained that the court verdict would favour holding of floor test. On the call for reconciliation, Zeliang said the party and the legislature were different but once his faction formed the next government then, they would consider it.
\nAsked to explain the flip flop of first supporting the CM for his by election then going against him; Zeliang said it was Dr. Sh\u00fcrhozelie\u2019s plan and the party cannot stop him since he was party president.
\nAsked why he could not wait for by poll results for change in leadership, Zeliang said by-election was only for one constituency and the question was about of change of leader. He said majority of legislature wanted change of leader and formation of government.
\nHe however said the change would depend on the Governor applying Article 147 of the Constitution of India.
