To enhance production and productivity of various crops, Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) has been conducting various trainings and demonstrations for the farmers of the state.
Kohima: Within district training on awareness on millets production technology and seed production on cereals and pulses was organised by ATMA Kohima district on November 1 at DAO, Conference Hall.
At the programme, resource person, ACTO Kohima, genetic and plant breeding KVK, Kohima, Dr. Martina Shitiri highlighted the importance of cereals and pulses particularly millet of its nutrients and adaptability in wide range of climate condition, different types of millet and details of its nutrients. In the second session, the resource person appraised on the weed management, quality seed production of cereals and pulses and management of seed field.
ATMA Ghathashi block also conducted training and demonstration on October 31 and November 1 at Lazami Village and Laza Phuyeqa respectively with BTM Y. Welson Shitio and ATM Kerilhoulie Rulu as the resource persons. The resource persons conducted training on \u201csloping agricultural land technology\u201d and demonstrations on \u201cdrip irrigation using spike device\u201d, \u201cnursery bed preparation for winter crops\u201d and \u201cwinter crops\u201d. A farmer group was also mobilised at Laza Phuyeqa.
In Wozhuro, training and demonstration on packages and practices of large cardamom cultivation was conducted on October 31 at Shaki Village and Phiro Village respectively.
At the programme, resource person, ATM Elilo Kikon highlighted the benefits and high output value in cardamom cultivation and also emphasised on scientific method of large cardamom plantation.
