Lively music, traditional dances and a fashion show promoting the local designers, skilled artisans, and craftsmen from Nagaland marked the first edition of \u201cAutumn Festival\u201d organised by the government of Nagaland on November 4 at Nagaland House, New Delhi New Delhi.
A press release by Nagaland tourism department informed that the festival was organised by the department of tourism, government of Nagaland and the office of the Chief Resident Commissioner, Nagaland House, New Delhi and supported by the Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio, Department of Underdeveloped Areas (DUDA) and the ministry of Tourism, government of India to commemorate \u201cAzadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav\u201d.
Speaking on the occasion, senior economic advisor, Ministry of Tourism, government of India, Gyan Bhushan said the festival showcases an excellent holistic flavour of the state in terms art, culture, cuisine, music etc., and that it was a prelude to the Hornbill Festival.
Talking about the festival, senior public relations officer, department of tourism, government of Nagaland, Lisapila Anar said tourism industry was severely hit during the pandemic and added that the department\u2019s priority and prerogative was to rebuild the industry.
Highlights of the festival included live performances by prominent Naga artists Imna Yaden, Yangertoshi Longkumer and Governor\u2019s Award recipient Sunep Lemtur and a fashion show by the brand Mongken, an initiative of the DUDA, which aims to provide economic opportunities for local designers, skilled artisans, and craftsmen from Nagaland, especially in underdeveloped regions.
In a bid to support local entrepreneurship and \u201cMade in Nagaland\u201d products, the event showcased textiles, handicrafts, and local food products by young entrepreneurs and artisans of the state. The festival was also aimed at providing the visitors a flavour of the upcoming Hornbill festival which will kickstart on December 1.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
