{"id":31698,"date":"2017-08-11T00:20:51","date_gmt":"2017-08-11T00:20:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2017\/08\/11\/weavers-service-centre-inaugurated-at-luyong\/"},"modified":"2017-08-11T00:20:51","modified_gmt":"2017-08-11T00:20:51","slug":"weavers-service-centre-inaugurated-at-luyong","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2017\/08\/11\/weavers-service-centre-inaugurated-at-luyong\/","title":{"rendered":"Weavers service centre inaugurated at Luyong"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/IMIOWJNYLYDLNSAMVAFM.jpg><\/p>\n<div>A Weavers Service Centre (WSC), set up under the auspices of Development Commissioner of Handlooms, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, was inaugurated by parliamentary secretary for industries and commerce, NIDC, Amenba Yaden at Luyong, Tuli on August 9.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Speaking on the occasion, Amenba said that centre was one of the gamuts of entrepreneurial infrastructure that the department of industries and commerce envisages to set up to promote economic activities in the area.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>A common facility centre would be added to the existing centre at a later stage, he said.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Maintaining that the unemployment was the greatest challenge faced by the Naga society and with the saturation of government job, Amenba said it has become imperative for the state government to provide avenues for self employment.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>However, he hoped that the service centre set up under the initiatives of the government would meet to the growing need. He also lamented on the failure to revive Nagaland Pulp &amp; Paper Company, and said that revival of the unit was a distant dream. \u201cWe have bitten more than we could chew as far as establishment of the paper mill is concern,\u201d the parliamentary secretary said.<\/div>\n<div>Amenba further added that the topography as well as socio-cultural scenario do not permit establishment of mega project. He therefore, suggested that local entrepreneurs should rather strive towards setting up of medium and micro enterprises, which are manageable and also environmental friendly.<\/div>\n<div>While reminding that human resource development was crucial in order to usher in an economic revolution in an entrepreneurship friendly region such as Tuli, the parliamentary secretary said that the present service centre was one such initiative towards achieving skill development in the state.<\/div>\n<div>Delivering a brief account of the Weavers Service Centre, K. Hokishe Assumi, managing director of Nagaland Handloom &amp; Handicraft Development Corporation and Addl. Director of Industries and Commerce, Nagaland said that the service centre was the first of a series that the Central government has sanctioned for the state.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>The centre would focus on imparting training to the local artisans mainly on three disciplines- designing, dyeing and weaving. Apart from imparting training through experienced mater trainers, the centre would also facilitate guaranteed marketing of the produce manufactured by the trained artisans.
