{"id":31850,"date":"2017-07-26T00:01:13","date_gmt":"2017-07-26T00:01:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2017\/07\/26\/hetfield-slams-kylie-kendall-jenner-over-t-shirts\/"},"modified":"2017-07-26T00:01:13","modified_gmt":"2017-07-26T00:01:13","slug":"hetfield-slams-kylie-kendall-jenner-over-t-shirts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2017\/07\/26\/hetfield-slams-kylie-kendall-jenner-over-t-shirts\/","title":{"rendered":"Hetfield slams Kylie+ Kendall Jenner over T-Shirts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/><\/p>\n<div>Metallica frontman James Hetfield has slammed Kylie and Kendall Jenner for selling \u201cvintage\u201d T-shirts with the pair\u2019s faces superimposed over some of rock and rock\u2019s biggest icons, including his band.<\/div>\n<div>The T-shirts in question were unveiled on the sisters\u2019 Kendall + Kylie online shop late last month, and featured images of Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne, Kiss, Pink Floyd, The Doors, Led Zeppelin and the late Notorious B.I.G. overlaid with Instagram shots of the model\/reality star siblings.<\/div>\n<div>The merchandise \u2014 which was being sold for $125 apiece and featured the logo \u201cRepurposed in the USA\u201d \u2014 did not go over well, and especially not with Voletta Wallace, mother of the late Christopher Wallace, the real name of Notorious B.I.G. She slammed the girls on Instagram, calling the shirts \u201cdisrespectful, disgusting, and exploitation at its worst!!!\u201d<\/div>\n<div>The reality TV stars quickly withdrew the shirt from sale, explaining in a statement: \u201cThese designs were not well thought out and we deeply apologize to anyone that has been upset and\/or offended, especially to the families of the artists.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>Asked by ET Canada for his opinion on Kendall and Kylie Jenner\u2019s T-shirt featuring Metallica\u2019s \u201cKill \u2018Em All\u201d album cover with an Instagram image of Kylie placed on top, Hetfield said: \u201cI guess what they were thinking is, \u2018We can do whatever we want.\u2019 To me, it\u2019s disrespectful. We\u2019ve spent thirty-six years working hard, doing our best to keep a really close connection with people, make every note count, and someone just throws something up over something that we feel\u2026 Not that it\u2019s sacred or anything, but show some respect.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>When the shirts launched on Kendall + Kylie, Ozzy\u2019s wife and manager Sharon made it clear that the Jenners failed to reach out to the Black Sabbath singer to secure the legal rights to his image.<\/div>\n<div>\u201cGirls, you haven\u2019t earned the right to put your face with musical icons. Stick to what you know\u2026lip gloss,\u201d she tweeted.<\/div>\n<div>Earlier this month, Sharon slammed the sisters\u2019 business practices again on the CBS talk show \u201cThe Talk\u201d.<\/div>\n<div>Osbourne, who is a co-host on the program, started the segment by reading her tweet aloud and then launched into a criticism of the Jenners, calling their T-shirt line a publicity stunt.<\/div>\n<div>\u201cThey are doing this for press, like they do everything, and I fell right for it by responding,\u201d she said.<\/div>\n<div>\u201cThey\u2019re getting their line up and running by using all these iconic performers to just state that they now have a line of merchandising,\u201d she said. \u201cThey know exactly what they\u2019re doing. They\u2019re not kids.
