The MLA also appreciated the sincerity of the SDEO, Bhandari in addressing the issues concerning the primary and middle schools in the Bhandari sub-division.

Kikon urged all the NGOs and the people of Bhandari to remember that though the initiative of bringing the NIOS study centre to their door steps at Bhandari was taken by the GHSS principal, they must take ownership of the centre and should ensure that each and every dropout student from Bhandari gets enrolled at the centre and continue their further studies successfully.

The MLA also termed the inauguration function as unique as it was attended by the outgoing ADC Orenthung Lotha and the incoming ADC Nchumbemo Odyuo. He welcomed the new ADC on behalf of people of his constituency and fondly remembered the selfless services rendered by the outgoing ADC Orenthung, particularly in maintaining harmony and peace in the area and making himself available to the people during all working days. He requested the incoming, ADC Nchumbemo, to contribute his best to the people of Bhandari.

The programme was chaired by PGT, B Mhabeni Odyuo, invocation by PGT, Whutsi Pfithu, welcome address by AHM, Yanbemo Lotha, short speech on the scope of NIOS courses by B Nellayappan and vote of thanks was proposed by Shahlen Nyiam.

The senior students of school presented a traditional song in the function attended by all the head of offices, NGOs, public leaders, GHSS staffs and students.

Mmhonlumo Kikon, MLA, has said that the government needs to be sensitive to the requirements of schools and teachers for better performance of government schools in Nagaland.
