Thousands of tree saplings were planted along the road between Old Ralan and Yanpha.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>RSU: R\u00fcsoma Students\u2019 Union (RSU) along with the youths and members of R\u00fcsoma Village Vision Cell (RVCC) observed the day with tree plantation from R\u00fcsoma village approach road to Dz\u00fc\u00fc River, in collaboration with Rusoma Village Council, VDBs, GBs, R\u00fcsoma Village Youth Organization, Chazu Krotho (Kohima) under the theme \u201cPreserve Environment\u201d. Almost all the concerned members and advisors participated in the programme. RVCC thanked the forest department, Kohima for providing free tree saplings of different verities and also thanked all the participants.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>MDLSA: Members of the Mokokchung District Legal Services Authority (MDLSA), Monday, conducted social work at the premise of the Mokokchung Law College, on World Environment Day. Apart from the weeding, clearing off the rubbish, MDLSA also white washed the college building. Retainer lawyer Imkong Jamir distributed tree saplings to the members, which were to be planted at the site of their choice and adopted.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>SBI Jalukie: State Bank of India, Jalukie Branch, Jalukie under Peren district observed World Environment Day on June 5, 2017 along with the rest of the world, wherein Manoj Gupta, branch manager along with his colleagues planted &nbsp;saplings.<\/div>\n<div>LSU: Longkhum Students\u2019 Union (LSU) along with Molungtok Zunga of Mokokchung conducted social work, in and around Longkhum village, planting tree saplings with adoption under the theme: \u2018Greening the Blue\u2019. (Correspondent)<\/div>\n<div>Tobu village: Deu-Yong Club, Tobu village in collaboration with SP, Mon, DFO, Mon and Tobu Village Students Union held a plantation drive at Tobu, with Tobu Village Council chairman, L. Leangin as special guest. President, Deu-Yong Club called on the gathering to plant more trees and make the surrounding green. Planting of a sapling by the special guest and distribution of the same to various schools and government offices was carried out.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>LFHSS: Livingstone Foundation Hr. Sec. School (LFHSS) Dimapur held brief programme at the school premises marked by a special pledge by the students and teachers to take care of the environment. The programme was organized by the Eco Club of the school. There was a painting and drawing competition conducted for Grades-I to VIII under the theme of World Environment Day. There was planting of tree saplings in the school compound by all the school heads. Eco Club members also put up posters on environmental issues for display.<\/div>\n<div>LMS Wokha: Libemo Memorial School authority and students conducted cleaning and planting of trees at Wokha village on the WED. Around two hundred students, teachers took part in the event. In a short programme, headmaster of Mt. Carmel High School and general secretary of Wokha Village Youth Organisation (WVYO) P. Chipen Kikon gave the welcome address, short speech by president of Wokha Village Students Union (WVSU) Nongothung Murry and vote of thanks by general secretary of WVSU, Thungben Humtsoe. The function was attended by the Wokha Village Eloe Ekhung and members from the village.<\/div>\n<div>CTSU &amp; CTYO Chumukedima: Chumukedima Town Students\u2019 Union (CTSU) and Chumukedima Town Youth Organisation (CTYO) held a programme in the local ground Chumukedima, wherein 18 schools had participated. Village council members, head GB Chumukedima, mothers association etc planted a tree each along with the students of 18 schools alongside the ground.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Eco Club NU SASRD Medziphema: Eco Club, Nagaland University (NU) SASRD (EC: SASRD) an essay competition on the theme on May 31. The club also undertook a plantation drive on June 3, where 34 trees were planted in the campus. Altogether 32 Eco Club students and faculty took part in the plantation drive for which the plants were provided by the campus beautification &amp; landscaping committee and the department of horticulture, NU: SASRD.<\/div>\n<div>DAN FARM NE-II: Development Association of Nagaland(DAN)FARM NE-II observed the day at St Xavier\u2019s Seminary Jalukie to create awarness on preservation of environment.150 people &nbsp;took part in the celebration. Drawing competition was also held where four schools took part in the competition under peren district.The theme speaker Dr Patu Khate encouraged the participants to bring nature indoor and to take up plantation to save the environment. There was plantation of 530 sapplings in 9 villages under peren district.<\/div>\n<div>173 Bn CRPF: The battalion planted trees at camp premises Airfield, Dimapur and Transit Camp Industrial Estate Lengrijan, Dimapur. Mukhatyar Singh 2nd in command and unit officers, Jawans under supervision of &nbsp; Joseph Keishing planted the saplings.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>78th CRPF: 78th Battalion of CRPF observed the day under unit commandant &nbsp;Neeraj Yadav, team of officers and men planted more than 200 trees in the camp area. Plantations were also made in the seven sub-units of the battalion deployed at Kohima, Dimapur and Mokokchung. &nbsp; As part of the \u2018Swachch Bharat Abhiyan\u2019, &nbsp;a large compost pit has been prepared for organic waste.<\/div>\n<div>Eco Club AHSS Chumukedima: Eco Club, Agape Higher Secondary School (AHSS), Chumukedima observed the day, wherein students and teachers took active part in mass cleanliness drive both inside the school campus and in the combined tree plantation drive, organized by Chumukedima Town Students\u2019 Union and Chumukedima Youth Organization at the local ground, Chumukedima.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>NEIDA: The North East Initiative Development Agency (NEIDA) along with SHG members and school students at Pungro town, Kiphire district carried out cleanliness drive around Pungro town with the help of 16 Self Help Groups (SHGs). Street play competition was organized whereby four schools viz., Little Flower School, Around Saramati Mountain High School, Christian High School and Mt. Horeb School participated. Christian High School Pungro bagged the first place, followed by Little Flower School in second and Mt. Horeb School and Around Saramati Mountain High School in 3rd place.<\/div>\n<div>GHSS Pfutsero: &nbsp;GHSS Pfutsero observed World Environment Day by participating in the cleanliness drive at Pfutsero Town. Around 690 students along with the teachers participated in the drive. Principal GHSS, Vechikhoyi Lohe reminded the students to be responsible in disposing waste. The school participated along with the KALOS and 9 Assam Rifles.<\/div>\n<div>Little Garden School Tuli: Little Garden School Tuli under the initiative of the respective class teachers, students of Class 1 to 10 carried out activities like painting, cleanliness drive, planting trees and saving energy within the school premises. &nbsp;The school\u2019s Eco Club took up the activity of distributing \u2018recycled paper bags\u2019 in all the departmental offices and institutions, creating awareness to reduce the use of plastic bags. Also the Eco Club members carried out a cleanliness drive in and around \u2018Wednesday Market\u2019 area on June 3.<\/div>\n<div>Longsa Eagle Club: The Longsa Eagle Club, Mokokchung district, which is celebrating its Golden Jubilee this year, observed the day by planting trees along the village road. Club members planted around 200 Mountain-ebony trees (Orchid tree) along with nearly 100 other trees such as Gulmohar, Golden rain, Pink shower etc. They also repainted the flower pots which the club earlier donated to the village. &nbsp;The club will also observe the World Blood Donors Day 2017 on June 14 by donating blood at various locations.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>PVHSS: Pranab Vidyapith Higher Secondary School (PVHSS), Dimapur observed the day with various program, like display of paintings, placards, posters, cleaning, discussions etc. A student of Class- 10 Topai Nag spoke on the history of the environment day observation, Bimal Ojha (A\/T) spoke on the simple practices in daily life which would help in the conservation of natural resources. Headmaster L.C. Das spoke about the importance of the observation of this day.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>KHSS: Konjong Hr. Secondary School (KHSS) cleaned the main road, drainage in Techa and Chajon wards. Due to sudden cyclonic storms on June 3 in many places, Mon town faced landslides and some houses were washed away by mudslides. KHSS Mon NCC Girls wing headed by the principal N. Wangsha and teaching staff extended help in different possible ways.<\/div>\n<div>VB Infants\u2019 Digital Home: VB Infants\u2019 Digital Home (pre-children school) organized children science programme on the occasion of World Environment day. Guardians of the children also joined in helping their ward to plant atleast one sapling in the campus of VB Infants\u2019 Digital Home.<\/div>\n<div>1 Nagaland Girls Bn NCC: 1 Nagaland girls Bn NCC under the aegis of NCC Group HQ Kohima observed the across the Nagaland in 52 Schools and 20 colleges covering 11 districts of Nagaland. Approximately, 4000 Girls cadets of Nagaland have participated in the event conducted in various institutions by means of tree plantation drive, rallies, nukkad natak to educate masses, musical drama, debate competitions.
