{"id":32870,"date":"2017-05-23T23:31:13","date_gmt":"2017-05-23T23:31:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2017\/05\/23\/certificate-award-on-food-and-culinary-skills-for-prison-inmates\/"},"modified":"2017-05-23T23:31:13","modified_gmt":"2017-05-23T23:31:13","slug":"certificate-award-on-food-and-culinary-skills-for-prison-inmates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2017\/05\/23\/certificate-award-on-food-and-culinary-skills-for-prison-inmates\/","title":{"rendered":"Certificate award on \u2018food and culinary skills\u2019 for prison inmates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/QDLBVDTQFDGRNSWKFEDI.jpg><\/p>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Prison department initiated a training programme in collaboration with Pinnacle Skills on \u201cfood and culinary skills\u201d in furtherance of its ongoing reform, rehabilitation and reintegration initiatives at various jails in Nagaland which concluded Tuesday, at Central Jail, Dimapur with a certification ceremony.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>Considering the achievements of inmates in receiving certificates of vocational training as \u201ccommendable\u201d, \u201cremarkable\u201d and \u201cworthy to be praised\u201d parliamentary secretary of Science and Rechnology and Jail, Hukavi Zhimomi as chief guest of the programme remarked that certification ceremony on prison reforms in cooking and culinary art for inmates and TOG\u2019s was a success story which had been possible with individual\u2019s sacrifice.<\/div>\n<div>Hukavi Zhimomi while encouraging the inmates asked them to be sincere in whatever they had learned so that they would be able to impart their talents to their friends and families and help the society move forward.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Lauding, Director General of Prison (DGP) Home Guard and Civil Defence, Rupin Sharma for extending commendable job by managing to bring in development of the department in his capacity, Zhimomi acknowledged that state government was unable to bring developmental work due to fund constraint.<\/div>\n<div>Pointing out \u201cmistakes\u201d to be part of every individual\u2019s life, he asked the gathering not to make \u2018mistakes\u2019 a habit but to reform oneself and be an asset to the community.<\/div>\n<div>Meanwhile, Director General of Prisoners HG &amp; civil defence, Rupin Sharma in his speech shared his vision on how the training for three-month initiative started saying \u201cit is just the beginning and not the end\u201d.<\/div>\n<div>He was hopeful that the training would help the trained inmates to start their own business and sustain their life once they were freed.<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;Asserting on the constraint and problems of the inmates, he suggested for construction of restaurant within the jail premises so that inmates could utilise their skills.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>While informing about the upcoming activities such as training programme of cutting and tailoring and opening of bank accounts for the inmates, he appealed the inmates and staff to cooperate with one another.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>He further thanked the jail staff for their co-operation and congratulated the awardees on their success.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Short speech was also delivered by secretary, Home C. Kikon on behalf of the state government where he assured to extend co-operation to proposals and programmes that came through the government.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Kikon reiterated that the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had directed all Union Territories and states to chalk out programmes for prison inmates.
