{"id":328874,"date":"2023-02-18T02:21:49","date_gmt":"2023-02-17T20:51:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.com\/?p=328874"},"modified":"2023-02-18T02:21:51","modified_gmt":"2023-02-17T20:51:51","slug":"nagaland-bids-adieu-to-gov-prof-mukhi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2023\/02\/18\/nagaland-bids-adieu-to-gov-prof-mukhi\/","title":{"rendered":"Nagaland bids adieu to Gov Prof. Mukhi"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The farewell programme of outgoing Nagaland governor, Prof. Jagdish Mukhi was held at Dr. Imkongliba Ao Hall, Raj Bhavan in Kohima on Friday.<br>According to a Raj Bhavan statement, the first lady Prem Mukhi, former chief minister and governor, Dr. SC Jamir, state chief secretary J Alam, senior government officials, officers and staff of Raj Bhavan and other dignitaries attended the programme.<br>Speaking at his farewell programme, Prof. Mukhi, who was appointed as Nagaland governor on September 17, 2021, thanked the people of Nagaland for the respect, affection and support given to him during his stay.<br>Prof. Mukhi, congratulated the new governor of Nagaland La. Ganesan, and expressed confidence that he would lead the State through the roads of professionalism, independence and strength, which the State required for the good of the country and all Nagas.<br>Prof.Mukhi also acknowledged the Raj Bhavan officers and staff, saying nothing could have been achieved without their active cooperation. He stated that he has been inspired and energised by his interactions with citizens during his visits across the State.<br>Stating that corruption is the enemy of development and good governance, he called for both the government and the people to come together to achieve this national objective.<br>Prof. Mukhi further exhorted all to continue strengthening the State to raise it to higher level.<br>He also thanked the legislators, head of departments and all the staff, for the support shown to him during his tenure.<br>Speaking on behalf of the state government, state chief secretary, J Alam, stated that Prof. Mukhi\u2019s tenure of about one and half years may look relatively small, but in terms of impact on many key aspects of governance of the State, it has been very significant.<br>Alam said Prof.Mukhi\u2019s wisdom, vast experience and knowledge of finance was instrumental in guiding the affairs of the State towards greater efficiency and effectiveness.<br>The chief secretary credited the governor for accelerating the pace of infrastructure projects such as the four-lane Dimapur-Kohima road project, which he said had immensely benefitted from intense monitoring and regular review by the governor. He also said that the governor showed deep concern for the people living in border areas during his tour to various districts of the State.<br>Commissioner, Nagaland, T. Mhabemo Yanthan, who also spoke at the programme, said that he had the honour to work closely with the governor when he was the commissioner &amp; secretary to the governor. He said that Prof. Mukhi during his tenure extensively toured the State and personally interacting with different sections of society.
