Eastern Sumi Students Union (ESSU) and Western Satami Union (WSU) have vehemently condemned the firing incidents at the private residences of Lok Sabha Tokheho Yepthomi and former MLA, Pukhayi Sumi by unidentified miscreants on March 6 midnight.
In a condemnation note, ESSU president, Ghuvika Yeptho and general secretary, Viloka Zhimo called upon everyone to condemn such acts of violence and appealed to the law enforcing agencies to investigate the matter and book the culprits at the earliest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Western Satami Union: WSU comprising of Dimapur, Niuland and Chumoukedima districts while condemning the firing incident at the private residence of former MLA, Pukhayi Sumi at Diphupar \u2018B\u2019 village appealed to the investigating teams to probe the cause of the incident and the culprits involved be brought to the public domain to be followed by course of action.
In a press release, WSU president, Pitoho Awomi and secretary, Mughato K Kiba said that Pukhayi, who was known for his humbleness, down to earth and committed for ushering peace in the society cannot be a victim of such unethical and uncivilised action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The union expressed concern that if such a tall leader, whose contribution and dedication have been well cherished by all like- minded Nagas and who advocated peace, progress and prosperity has been targeted then how Nagas can expect for the change and transformation in the scoeity.
