An agro machineries and implements outlet–PiPi Traders showroom was inaugurated on Friday at New Secretariat Road, Kohima.<\/span><\/div>\n
Inaugurating the outlet, joint secretary, government of India, Dr. Tarsem Chand congratulated Pipi traders for taking the initiative and said that Government of India was ready to support such projects.<\/div>\n
He also lauded the entrepreneurs for contributing the farming mechanization which inturn will help the state to compete with other progressive countries.<\/div>\n
APC and commissioner and secretary Imkonglemba said Nagaland sustains because of agriculture as it contribute more than 30% of the GDP growth. He therefore, said that it was everyone responsibility to work and assist the farmers to cope up with the new technology. The APC also added that the Systemic Rise Intensification which started in 2009 by few scientists in Northeast and was taken over by Government of India in 2012 has helped the farmers in many ways. It was for this, labor cost has reduced from 25-30% while the return yield was doubled, he said.<\/div>\n
He thanked the farmers for accepting the new technology and said that the department was trying to bring mechanization in line with the Government of India move to double the income of the farmers by 2022. To achieve this, he said progressive entrepreneurs like PIPI traders have to come up.  He further said that schemes provided by the department were not enough to support the farmers unless the entrepreneur, who has the purchasing power come up with such outlets.<\/div>\n
He requested the NABARD financial institution to extend support to the farmers, empower them in getting financial support so that they get their own machines.<\/div>\n
