Dr. Neiliezh\u00fc \u00dcsou\u2019s Memorial Award for Music for securing 100 marks, the highest scorer in music in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination 2017. He is the 13th Awardee and he received a cash award of Rs. 15000 and a citation sponsored by the family of Rev. Dr. Neiliezh\u00fc \u00dcsou.<\/div>\n<div>At a grand ceremony filled with music performances at the Minister\u2019s Hill Baptist Church Kohima today, Neingusalie Yano was awarded along with the Toppers of HSSLC 2017 of Minister\u2019s Hill Baptist Higher Secondary School Kohima. In his acceptance speech, he acknowledged God for the great honour and the sponsors for creating such an opportunity for HSLC music students. He also thanked his music teacher for imparting all the knowledge and his parents, well wishers and friends for the support while expressing hope that this award would continue to inspire music students of HSLC to excel in the field.<\/div>\n<div>The HSSLC toppers from Minister\u2019s Hill Baptist Higher Secondary School (MHBHSS) Kohima included Eloz\u00fco Sapr\u00fcna (1st Topper-94.20%), Roseline Pojar (3rd Topper- 91.20%), N\u00fch\u00fcvolu Ch\u00fczho (4th Topper- 90.80%), Vietelo Ar\u00fcji (6th Topper- 89.40%), R\u00fcyihulu Cukhamu (9th Topper-89%) and Rulevel\u00fc Cukhamu (10th Topper- 88.80%) respectively. They all received cash awards and mementos.<\/div>\n<div>In the meantime, Menovi Yhosh\u00fc was awarded with Tsito Nakhro Memorial Award for securing the highest percentage in HSLC while N\u00fch\u00fcvelu Ch\u00fczho was awarded with Kanato Memorial Award for being the best student from the outgoing batch of Class-12. These awards were instituted in memory of the late students, Tsito Nakhro and Kanato respectively.<\/div>\n<div>Chief Engineer, PHED, Er. Kevisekho Kruse, who graced the occasion as chief guest congratulated the awardees for their remarkable achievements while also stating his hope that the school will continue to keep up the standard. He further complimented the family of Rev. Dr. Neiliezh\u00fc \u00dcsou for keeping the legacy of their father alive, who, he termed as a \u2018great man\u2019. Stating that he was a pastor, a preacher, and the tallest musician in the Naga society, he said that it is befitting that the music award is being instituted in his honour.<\/div>\n<div>In her speech, the Principal of MHBHSS, Ale\u00fc \u00dcsou said that the memorial award of excellence in music is dedicated to the memory of their father, to capture the spirit of his work and to pay their poignant tribute to his commitment and outstanding accomplishments in the field of music.<\/div>\n<div>To all the awardees, she said, \u201cThe milestones you achieved are wonderful opportunities to celebrate and make memorable impressions\u201d and in the meantime, urged them to define their success and live up to their own measures with passion and commitment.<\/div>\n<div>Several subject teachers were also awarded for their \u2018Teachers Distinctive Performance\u2019 while Distinction Holders were acknowledged with mementos for their performance. Highlights of the event included prelude by School of Music, Kohima, welcome speech by Vitsikolie Kehie, Bible reading and prayer by Rev. Dr. Meciehol Savi, School Coordinator, NBCC, \u2018A tribute to my Grandfather\u2019 by Dziesengu\u00fc \u00dcsou, \u2018He understands my tears\u2019 by Grandchildren of Rev. Dr. Neiliezh\u00fc \u00dcsou, speech by Eloz\u00fco M.
