For achieving this, he said Meiteis, being the most advance among the ethnic communities of the region, needed to play the role of big brother. \u201cTime has come for the Meitei to come forward and create friendship with the younger brethren while we expect with a new peaceful and harmonious era.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>The people in the Northeast have different ethnic groups and all shall learn to live together and that was our priority in Nagaland,\u201d he added. Liezietsu said that the purpose of his visit was a \u201ccourtesy call\u201d to chief minister N Biren Singh and the people of Manipur.<\/div>\n<div>Accompanied by DAN chairman &amp; advisor (Finance) TR Zeliang, minister in charge of NPF Manipur state unit, Yitachu and NPF central vice president and in charge of NPF MSU, Zaku Tsukhru, Dr. Sh\u00fcrhozelie landed by Chopper at the historic Kangla Fort where his counterpart, N. Biren Singh along with his cabinet colleagues received the Nagaland delegation.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Thousands of NPF and BJP party functionaries gave a rousing reception to the visiting dignitaries.<\/div>\n<div>According to CMO media cell, in a press note, Dr. Liezietsu said: \u201cWe are all aware that there were several crises in our two States, but with the change of guards here at Manipur, people have begun to see a ray of hope and a new dawn of peace is being heralded in between the two States and the different communities in the region.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>He lamented that in the past certain leaders had manipulated and made use of the circumstances for their \u201cown selfish ends\u201d but that with the new dispensation taking over the reins of the state \u201ca new era has dawned and we should all take it as our personal victory.\u201d He also assured that the four NPF MLAs would continue to remain in the alliance till the last.<\/div>\n<div>Later in the day, addressing party functionaries at an informal gathering, DAN chairman and former chief minister T.R. Zeliang said for the first time in decades, Manipur was fortunate to a have a chief minister who was eager to reach out to the hills people.
