Peace Channel organised a training for students on how to in conflict situations at Trinity High School, Thahekhu Village Dimapur on May 6. <\/div>\n
A press note from Peace Channel desk stated that director of Peace Channel Fr. C.P Anto said that Trinity High School had already set a new trend and stepped forward in working together to create a peaceful world. <\/div>\n
He also stressed on the importance and methods of peer mediation in schools and communities.  Fr. Anto said that peer mediation was both a process and programme, where students of the same age-group facilitate resolving disputes between two people or small groups and had proven effective in schools and communities. <\/div>\n
He said that process of peer mediation makes the youth to improve self-esteem, listening and critical thinking skills, and enhances the school climate for learning, as well as reduce disciplinary actions and fights. <\/div>\n
Fr. Anto said that youth have to play cartelist of change where ever they were and need to be taught to resolve conflict in their lives, families and educational institutions and make them the messengers of peace in the conflict situations.  <\/div>\n
He informed that the ultimate objective of all the peer mediators of peace club members was to make the educational institutions, communities and families a place of peace and promote harmonious living among all.<\/div>\n
Students were also taught where and how they could intervene, issues related to social media, domestic violence etc. <\/div>\n
The programme was attended by 150 students. N.T Abraham the headmaster welcomed the gathering and Arti, the peace club coordinator, proposed vote of thanks. <\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
