{"id":35208,"date":"2017-04-28T01:22:56","date_gmt":"2017-04-28T01:22:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2017\/04\/28\/cm-praises-centres-ujala-programme\/"},"modified":"2017-04-28T01:22:56","modified_gmt":"2017-04-28T01:22:56","slug":"cm-praises-centres-ujala-programme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2017\/04\/28\/cm-praises-centres-ujala-programme\/","title":{"rendered":"CM praises Centre\u2019s UJALA programme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/SZHYJQVIDSSKCQPXNKRB.jpg>Nagaland chief minister Dr. Sh\u00fcrhozelie Liezietsu praised the energy efficient programme under Unnat Jyoti by Affordable LEDs for All (UJALA), that has been taken up by the Kohima district administration and opined it would benefit the people in a big way when the state faces acute power deficiency. <br \/>\nDr. Sh\u00fcrhozelie said this when DC Kohima called on him in his office at Civil Secretariat Thursday to apprise him on the UJALA programme being implemented in Kohima. <br \/>\nA press communiqu\u00e9 issued by Media Cell in CMO informed that UJALA is centre\u2019s national LED programme to promote efficient lighting, enhance awareness on using efficient equipment to reduce electricity bills and help preserve environment. <br \/>\n\u201cThese bulbs have longevity, efficiency and are cost effective, it\u2019ll save electricity to a great extent\u201d, said the chief minister. Further, he urged the district administration to assist the people in availing this kind of schemes. The chief minister also gave away cost-free energy efficient bulbs to some beneficiaries. <br \/>\nDC Kohima Rajesh Soundararajan IAS highlighted the basic purpose of the initiative, for reducing energy consumption in Nagaland and to overcome the frequent power cuts and overloading of transformer. <br \/>\nThe DC also informed that along with the bulbs, LED tube lights and energy efficient fans will be distributed to the people. The bulbs which are available at a market for Rs. 350 to Rs. 700 and will be distributed at a nominal cost of Rs. 70. Recently, the cost was reduced to Rs. 63 per bulb, he said. In case of any problem, the consumer would be given a new bulb with a warranty of three years, DC added. <br \/>\nAssistant Commissioner, Reny Wilfred, IAS (P) who took active part in the initiative, informed that the district administration team was also planning to reach out to children in education sector especially in Math and Science subjects in an innovative way. He also added that fingerlings would be distributed to some villages on a trial basis in order to further develop fish farming.
