As part of preventive measures against influx of illegal immigrants from Assam ahead of final draft National Registration of Citizens (NRC) publication, Nagaland government Thursday issued advisories. <\/p>\n

Home department has directed all the village\/town\/municipal authorities to take measures to strictly monitor influx of people from outside the State in violation of the existing rules\/norms. Any unusual influx of outsiders, the government said should be promptly brought to the knowledge of the district administration and police.<\/p>\n

It also advised district administration and police to properly check\/verify the antecedents of any new incoming tenants.<\/p>\n

Further, all entry points\/check gates manned by the police are to be strengthened to thwart any influx of illegal immigrants and mobile patrolling in vulnerable locations be activated in the respective jurisdictions.<\/p>\n

State government has also instructed that ILP regulations should be strengthened with effective monitoring and checking from time to time.<\/p>\n
