{"id":376931,"date":"2023-09-15T14:34:03","date_gmt":"2023-09-15T09:04:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.com\/?p=376931"},"modified":"2023-09-15T14:34:05","modified_gmt":"2023-09-15T09:04:05","slug":"send-off-towards-the-sun-for-aditya-l1-spacecraft-on-sep-19-isro","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2023\/09\/15\/send-off-towards-the-sun-for-aditya-l1-spacecraft-on-sep-19-isro\/","title":{"rendered":"Send off towards the Sun for Aditya-L1 spacecraft on Sep 19: ISRO"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;India\u2019s space-based solar observatory Aditya-L1 will be given a send off towards the Sun on September 19 when the spacecraft will be maneuvered to Trans-Lagrangian Point 1 Insertion (TL1I), the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) said on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the ISRO, the fourth Earth-bound maneuver was performed successfully at 2.15 a.m. on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cISRO&#8217;s ground stations at Mauritius, Bengaluru, SDSC-SHAR and Port Blair tracked the satellite during this operation, while a transportable terminal currently stationed in the Fiji islands for Aditya-L1 will support post-burn operations,\u201d the space agency said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to ISRO, the new orbit attained is 256 km x 121973 km.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ISRO said the next maneuver, Trans-Lagrangian Point 1 Insertion (TL1I) &#8212; a send-off from the Earth &#8212; is scheduled for September 19 at around 2 a.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Aditya-L1 is India\u2019s space based solar observatory which was orbited in low earth orbit (LEO) September 2 by an Indian rocket called Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle\u2013XL (PSLV-XL) variant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The spacecraft\u2019s orbit has been raised by ISRO four times since then.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As the spacecraft travels towards Lagrange Point (L1), it will exit the earth\u2019s gravitational Sphere of Influence (SOI).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After exit from SOI, the cruise phase will start and subsequently the spacecraft will be injected into a large halo orbit around the L1 &#8212; the point where the gravitational pull of two large bodies &#8211; Sun and Earth &#8211; will be equal and hence the spacecraft will not gravitate towards any one of the planet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The total travel time from launch to L1 would take about four months for Aditya-L1 and the distance will be about 1.5 million km from the Earth.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;India\u2019s space-based solar observatory Aditya-L1 will be given a send off towards the Sun on September 19 when the spacecraft will be maneuvered to Trans-Lagrangian Point 1 Insertion (TL1I), the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) said on Friday.
