{"id":377247,"date":"2023-09-17T03:15:21","date_gmt":"2023-09-16T21:45:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.com\/?p=377247"},"modified":"2023-09-17T03:15:25","modified_gmt":"2023-09-16T21:45:25","slug":"indian-swachhata-league-2-0-and-safai-mitra-suraksha-shivir-launched","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2023\/09\/17\/indian-swachhata-league-2-0-and-safai-mitra-suraksha-shivir-launched\/","title":{"rendered":"Indian Swachhata League 2.0 and Safai Mitra Suraksha Shivir launched"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A fortnight-long cleanliness campaign with the aim to mobilise the participation of people across the state through various activities such as Indian Swachhata League 2.0 and SafaiMitra Suraksha Shivir was launched across the state on September 16.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>The programme was supposed to kicked off on September 17, commemorating Prime Minister Modi\u2019s birth anniversary, however since September 17 being a Sunday, the launching programme was held on Saturday.<br>In Dimapur, the launching programme organised by Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) was graced by advisor, Tribal Affairs and Elections, H Tovihoto Ayemi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Addressing the gathering, Tovihoto appreciated the large turnout of volunteers to carry out mass cleanliness drive. He noted that Dimapur had witnessed tremendous improvements in term of cleanliness, but lamented that there was lot more to be done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>He urged the citizens to inculcate sense of cleanliness, claiming that it was a collective responsibility to keep the city clean, and not only the job of DMC. He said Dimapur should be an example to the rest of the state on cleanliness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>On the outbreak of dengue especially in Dimapur, Tovihoto encouraged the citizens to keep their surrounding in order to control dengue outbreak.<br>Quoting \u201cCleanliness is next to Godliness\u201d, he challenged all to consider themselves as brand ambassador for cleanliness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Meanwhile, Administrator, DMC, W Manpai Phom, in his brief address, informed the gathering that the various activities have been planned to be undertaken under the theme to make Dimapur garbage clean.<br>Regarding the drive as a \u201cPeople\u2019s movement\u201d, Phom urged all the citizens to participate and make the programme a success, emphasizing on the focus on youth participation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, Sachin Jaiswal, in his keynote address, reiterated on the main focus area of the programme, and discouraged citizens on use of single use plastic.<br>The DC later read out the pledge for the programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Also delivering a short speech, president, Team Better Dimapur (TBD), Mhonjhan, appealed all gathering to change the habit of spitting tobacco stains in beautified locations and road dividers. It can be noted that around 200 volunteers attended the launching programme, where a cleanliness drive was undertaken from Clock Tower till DC Court Junction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>KOHIMA: In Kohima, the mass movement for \u201cIndian Swachhata League 2.0\u201d against the fight for garbage free India under \u201cKohima hill sweepers Vs Garbage\u201d was held at Old NST.<br>MLA of 9 Kohima Town A\/C, Dr. Tseilhoutuo Rhutso, who graced the launching programme, emphasized the idea on of contribution towards the society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>He suggested the students at the end of every week on Friday, to clean the streets or roadside from their way to home and carry a paper bag for collecting the trash and disposing it in the nearest dustbins. Dr. Rhutso also asked the gathering for participation in cleaning the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Chairperson and welcome note was delivered by Roukuokhrienuo and the pledge of Swachhata was taken and vote of thanks was delivered by KMC, administrator, T. Lanusenla Longkumer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>MEDZIPHEMA: School of Agricultural Sciences (SAS), Nagaland University observed Swachh Bharat Abhiyan 2023 at its Medziphema campus by organising a cleanliness drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>In an attempt to make cleanliness a part of everyone\u2019s daily routine and to achieve the prime minister\u2019s vision of a clean India, the programme was organised.<br>The cleanliness drive was led by Prof. L. Daiho, dean &amp; PVC i\/c and was participated by staff and students of NU, SAS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>The participants were engaged in cleaning the hostel premises, instructional farms, guest houses, office premises, pathways while also planting avenue plants that would facilitate a clean and green environment.<br>Vice Chancellor of Nagaland University, Prof. Jagdish K. Patnaik also participated in the cleanliness drive and to mark the occasion, he planted two evergreen tree saplings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>LONGLENG: ADC &amp; Administrator, Longleng Town Council, Alongdhimen Jamir led the Swachhata campaign in Longleng. In his keynote address, he said Indian Swachhata led by vibrant youth was committed commits towards building a garbage free cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>He informed that after the event every city and town will have to submit official entry detailing their activities supported by photos and videos and will be evaluated base on essential criteria, the scale of youth engagement through voluntary registration of myGov app whereas each entry shall be examine based on innovative ness and its impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>He said the top ten team across the country shall be declared as champions.
