{"id":3829,"date":"2008-07-15T23:25:06","date_gmt":"2008-07-15T23:25:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2008\/07\/15\/catch-them-young-tourney-begins\/"},"modified":"2008-07-15T23:25:06","modified_gmt":"2008-07-15T23:25:06","slug":"catch-them-young-tourney-begins","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2008\/07\/15\/catch-them-young-tourney-begins\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Catch them young\u2019 tourney begins"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/spt.JPG><span style=\"color: red;\"><\/span>The Inter-district \u201cCatch Them Young\u201d tournament, started on Tuesday at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima, with KT Sukhalu, secretary, Youth Resources and Sports (YRS) as the chief guest.<br \/>Declaring the four-day meet open, KT Sukhalu, secretary, Youth Resources and Sports (YRS) congratulated all the Districts Sports Officer (DSO) for successful conducting the district level meet and able to bring their teams to the Inter-district tournament.<br \/>The secretary also urged upon all the institutions and schools involved the youths and students in the activities of in National Service Scheme (NSS), National Cadets Corps (NCC) and Bharat Scouts and Guides (BSG). <br \/>In meantime he also called upon all District Sports Officer\u2019s and Youth Resources Officer\u2019s to expand the activities of NSS, NCC and BSG in their respective districts, so that it grow from strength to strength. <br \/>Earlier, the function was chaired by Arupe Zelaing, joint director Youth Resources and Sports.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <br \/>All the 11 districts of the state are taking part in the championships for athletics, badminton and football.<br \/>In the first match of football (Boys), Kohima edged out Peren by solitary goal, second match Zunheboto beat Kiphire 2-0 and in third match Dimapur down Mon 1-0.&nbsp; <br \/>Results<\/p>\n<p>Long Jump (Girls), final<br \/>1.Aloli (Zunheboto), 2. He said while declaring opened the Inter-district \u201cCatch Them Young\u201d tournament at Kohima. It may be mentioned that Dr. MS Gill urged the States to make concerted efforts to provide basic infrastructure at Panchayat level with special reference to the Panchayat Yuva Krida Aur Khel Abhiyan (PYKKA) and has assured all possible Centre\u2019s financial support for this purpose.&nbsp; During a meeting of states sport minister last week, Dr. Gill emphasized for promotion of sports at grass root level, as universaliation of sports cannot be achieved without adequate thrust on development of sports at Panchayat level and for this Government had already decided to provide one time seed capital to each Panchayat and has asked the States to send proposals to avail the benefits of the centrally sponsored scheme. In the meeting the state was represented by parliamentary secretary Youth and Sports Affairs (YAS) K.
