Women Self Help Groups (SHGs) members were sensitised on their roles and responsibilities in water-related activities, emphasising the significant role women play in water governance, as part of \u201cJal Diwali\u201d campaign held under the theme, \u201cWater for Women – Women for Water\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to a DIPR report, the campaign was initiated under the banner of the Atal Mission for Urban Transformation (AMRUT), a collaborative effort involving the National Urban Livelihood Mission (NULM) and Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), and initiated by the government of India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As part of the campaign, women representatives from 30 SHGs were taken on a visit to Water Treatment Plant (WTPs) site in New Ch\u00fcmoukedima, Pagalapahar, Friday, where they received comprehensive insights into the facility\u2019s operational procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The representatives were educated about the essential procedures involved in ensuring the delivery of clean and safe drinking water. They also had the opportunity to share their experiences and testimonials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
DDO of PHED, H. Nagaho Sema provided an orientation on the water treatment process. He highlighted various steps in the treatment process, including the intake of raw water, pre-chlorination, aeration, coagulation, flocculation, filtration, disinfection, clear water tank storage, and distribution to homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
