The Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR) celebrated its 16th Foundation-cum-Thanksgiving Day at the hospital in Dimapur on Saturday. Founding Professor, Developmental Paediatrics and child Neurology, Dr MC Matthew as the Guest of Honour emphasized CIHSR\u2019s distinctive role as a tripartite hospital, navigating challenges over the past 16 years by fostering a culture of service and education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr Matthew urged the hospital to embrace a holistic approach, aligning with CIHSR\u2019s ethos of \u2018Serve \u2013 Nurture- Transform\u2019, stressing the importance of becoming a notable chapter in medical prospects, building on a history of overcoming obstacles. He also added the hospital\u2019s evolution from a former government establishment to a transformative force is gradually shifting perceptions which is a notable feature while dwelling on the history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the Director\u2019s address, Dr Sedevi Angami, highlighted on CIHSR\u2019s status as a major outlet for Ayushman Digital health, anticipating collaborations for high-quality dialysis and ICU units. The hospital\u2019s commitment to research, with an emphasis on trauma care training, was underscored. Special attention was given to efforts in the Kuki-dominated area, addressing challenges arising from the Manipur conflict since May 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Recognition was extended to Dr Worlanso A Shimray, Associate Professor, College of Nursing CIHSR who was awarded Employee of the Year 2023 with commendation certificate and Rs 10000. KG Gaikhonlungpou received the Best Teacher Award (NERMPI) 2023 with commendation certificate<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Furthermore, 11 staff members were commended for completing 15 years, while 39 received commendations for a decade of service (second batch of employees\u2019 commendation).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Currently boasting a staff of 613 across administration, various departments, and management, CIHSR continues to advance its strategic five-year plan, identifying areas for improvement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
