Dimapur District Ladies Club (DDLC), formed on 1998, celebrated its Silver Jubilee celebration at The Oasis, Nyama Lotha Road, on Saturday, with Emeritus Professor, OTS, Bade, Dr Alongla Aier as the special guest. The event was celebrated on the theme, \u201c\u2026\u2026 a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised\u201d, from Proverbs 31:30b.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Addressing the jubilee gathering under the theme, Dr. Aier, in her address, explored the biblical concept of a \u201cvirtuous woman\u201d, and delved into the wisdom found from Proverbs 31, emphasizing the exemplary qualities of a woman who, according to Biblical text, was a women who was not self centered, but opened her arms to the poor, was engaged in entrepreneurial endeavors, and prioritized her family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Drawing parallels between the Biblical narrative and contemporary insights from psychology, Dr. Aier highlighted the importance of husband wife relationship in fostering personal growth, noting that each has the capacity to bring out the best in each other. She also pointed that mutual respect and confidence, as illustrated in Proverbs 31, contribute to a thriving partnership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Quoting verses from Proverbs, Dr. Aier underlined the central role of fearing the Lord in the virtuous woman\u2019s life, explaining that this fear was not merely a fleeting emotional response, but a profound reverence for God, influencing one\u2019s actions and lifestyle. She went on to stress that genuine fear of the Lord goes beyond feelings of guilt, but results in a transformative conviction that shapes every aspect of one\u2019s life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In her concluding remarks, Dr. Aier expressed optimism for DDLC\u2019s future, expressing hope that the club would continue its legacy of virtuous service and reach new heights in the coming 25 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, short speeches were delivered by Editor in Chief, Geoffrey Yaden, president, Naga Council Dimapur, Etsungmomo Kikon, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dimapur, Tinojongshi Chang, and Reet Sahi. All speakers shared personal anecdotes, emphasizing the enduring connection they have with the club whilst also recounted instances where the club, since its inception, spearheaded diverse initiatives, ranging from beautification projects to significant humanitarian efforts, leaving an indelible mark to Dimapur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Akumla Chuba, invocation offered by Pastor, Town Baptist Church Dimapur, Rev Vilodi Sakhrie, and welcome speech addressed by president, DDLC, Nini Sekhose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
