The 2nd Open Benchrest Air Rifle Shooting Competition will be held on December 6 and 7, 2023 at Phezou Resort, Tuophema, Kohima as part of the Hornbill Festival 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This was informed by the organisers, Tati Group Enterprises (TGE) CEO, Neikeso Zumu, during a press conference at the Hustlers Studio & Entertainment, Kohima on Saturday.
The competition will have two categories including .177 and open category for .22, .25, .30 and .177.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shooting distance for .177 category will be for 20, 35 and 50 metres while in the open category the distances will be 50, 75 and 100 metres.
Zumu informed that the event was sponsored by government of Nagaland and Tourism department while prize sponsors were joint CEO, NSDMA, Johnny Ruangmei and class 1 contractor, Dziesekhrielie Zumu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
TEG managing director, Vizhalie Sanchu informed that apart from the shooting competition there will be an extravaganza night for the competitors.
The entertainment artistes includes Keziah Semy, Angap Ngapgang, Runole Tep and JV Kelio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He disclosed that TEG had been creating platforms for upcoming and struggling artistes even in the past.
Meanwhile Zumu informed that so far 23 shooters had confirmed their participation and that they were expecting for more to join since registration will be open till December 5.
Defending champions in .177 category, Zimik V Ngayan from Assam and open category, Kezhaletuo Kire from Nagaland had also confirmed their participation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He disclosed that Zimik will be accompanied by three more shooters from Assam to compete in the event. Zumu said through the event the organisers were hoping that youths would get involved in the competition and give up hunting. He observed that in the past year, many villages under the Northern II assembly constituency had banned hunting with air rifles which had dramatically improved in conservation of birds and wildlife. Registration fee for .177 will be Rs 3,000 and open will be Rs 5,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It may be mentioned here that TEG with its headquarter based at Tuophema village, was formed in the year 2017 with some like-minded youths to foster unity, harmony, peace, human and economic development towards greater height as well as to bring economic development.
The group was formed to promote upcoming and struggling artistes and youths in the State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
TEG has been empaneled under TaFMA Nagaland and has organized various shows, talent hunts towards promoting music, youths and Tourism in Nagaland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Tati group Enterprise with the initiative to save wildlife, started the 1st open benchrest tournament at Tuophe Phezou Resort Tuophema Village, during the Hornbill Festival 2022.
