Therie on Tuesday released the party\u2019s manifesto with 17-point objectives for the February 2017 general election to municipal councils and town councils.<br \/>\nA short launching programme was organised at Congress Bhawan Dimapur attended by party veterans and loyalists. <br \/>\nWhile releasing the manifesto, Therie said the party welcomed 33% women reservation in civic polls. He said: \u201cvibrant women councillors\u2019 participation in the process of planning is expected to balance and also contribute new dimensions in the approach to administration\u201d.<br \/>\nTherie also attacked the BJP-led government in the centre over demonetisation saying plastic money (endorsed by the central government) made no sense in Nagaland where 80% of the population had neither bank account nor the infrastructure for cashless transaction. \u201cWe intend to send a strong message to GoI that we do not approve demonetisation,\u201d Therie stated.<br \/>\nHe said NPCC stood against demonetisation and corruption. \u201cWe stand for clean council, secular, decentralisation of power, and safeguard of constitutional rights,\u201d he asserted.<br \/>\nAccording to him, anyone voting for BJP\/NPF was voting for demonetisation.<br \/>\nHe was hopeful that the voters would send a strong signal to the state government and government of India through this municipal and town councils election. Further, Therie said NPCC would be fielding as many candidates as possible in the civic polls.<br \/>\nMeanwhile, NPCC in its manifesto alleged that civic polls was deliberately delayed where the powers and benefits misused\/mismanaged by NPF-BJP government by nominating NPF workers as members of municipals and town councils for the past seven years.
