{"id":395835,"date":"2023-12-19T01:53:37","date_gmt":"2023-12-18T20:23:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.com\/?p=395835"},"modified":"2023-12-19T01:53:41","modified_gmt":"2023-12-18T20:23:41","slug":"nsf-condemns-gunfight-between-zuf-nscn-i-m","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2023\/12\/19\/nsf-condemns-gunfight-between-zuf-nscn-i-m\/","title":{"rendered":"NSF condemns gunfight between ZUF, NSCN (I-M)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Naga Students\u2019 Federation (NSF) has condemned the gunfight between Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) and NSCN (I-M) on Sunday in Noney district of Manipur, where three cadres- two from ZUF and one from NSCN (I-M)- were killed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>NSF president Medovi Rhi and general secretary Chumben Khuvung in a joint statement, expressed distress over the recurrent violence perpetrated by armed factions while Naga people were in \u201chopeful anticipation\u201d for a resolution to the prolonged \u201cIndo-Naga\u201d political issue. They affirmed that such acts jeopardised the fabric of Naga brotherhood and threatened the hard-earned \u201cpeace and stability\u201d in the Naga homeland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>NSF said Sunday\u2019s gunfight has once again escalated fears and created a sense of insecurity among the innocent public.<br>While expressing deep concern over such incidents, NSF urged all stakeholders to consider the broader impact on the community.<br>NSF also strongly condemned the clash which defied the rule of law and disrupted the peaceful co-existence within the Naga family. It also asserted that Naga homeland\u2019s prosperity should not be held hostage by individuals with vested interests and extremist ideologies. NSF emphasised on the need for stakeholders to be cognizant of the unfolding situation and therefore, appealed for peace and unity across the Naga homeland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>The federation also called for a collective effort to thrive in harmony and peaceful co-existence.<br>It also asserted that the younger generation was set to inherit the outcomes of ongoing political negotiations and therefore, the path forward involved not only political discussions but also building bridges of trust and understanding among all stakeholders. NSF also stressed on the importance of fostering an environment where the Naga homeland and the entire region can coexist in harmony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Further, it also affirmed its commitment to fostering peace, unity, and a prosperous future for the Naga people.
