Advisor, tribal affairs and election, H. Tovihoto Ayemi Friday lauded Chang and S\u00fcmi community for coming together for a \u201chistorical signing of peace treaty\u201d. According to a DIPR report, Ayemi was speaking as the special guest on the second day of the Poangl\u00fcm Mini Hornbill Festival Lamshok (Peace Treaty) at Parade Ground, Tuensang.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ayemi expressed his happiness to see Chang and Sumi community come together for a historical signing and exhorted the gathering to put this \u201cpeace treaty\u201d into action and not just in words.
The advisor termed \u201clamshok\u201d or \u201cpeace treaty\u201d as an important event during Poangl\u00fcm festival and called upon the gathering to follow the same for a united society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tuensang being one of the oldest headquarters in the state, Ayemi said the district should protect and promote brotherhood for other districts to follow. Stating that Tuensang district has a potential to be a tourist hotspot due of its history and natural beauty, he also called on the gathering to promote local products, especially millet, as Tuensang has a high productivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Other highlights of the function were Chisok Lamshok by K Khel Tuensang Village, Jongli Chia from Nakshou Village, short speeches from president of CKS and S\u00fcmi Hoho, folk fusion from S\u00fcmi tribe, signing of reaffirmation of peace between Chang Khulei Setshang and S\u00fcmi Hoho.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The host of the function was Imtichuba Chang, MLA and chairman District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) Tuensang.
